How much do you make

Usually medicaid is better than Medicare!!! That is FYI! I know for sure... Reason... Medicaid usually pays for almost everything, and no premium to pay, comparing to Medicare where you have to pay 85 dollars a month premium plus 20% co-pay for any doctor visit. RX coverage really varies but you STILL have to pay for it, while Medicaid pays 99% of them.

I agree with you, I HATE medicare because they won't cover hearing aid stuff and the other stuff I don't remember. I wish I had medicaid, too bad I don't have SSI. :P

Does people can use medicare with no SSI/SSDI?

I don't have a SSI or a SSDI. I have a decent job with a year-end bonus and excellent benefits including paid personal time off, paid holidays, 401(k), and medical, vision, dental & long-term disability insurances.

You're an architect, right? What firm do you work for?

I have no idea about that, ask those people on this thread. I only know that medicare is covered under SSDI invidiuals and medicaid is under SSI invidiuals, that's all.

You are right. I still pay about 85 dollars monthly family medicare for my kids and me. My medicare insurance accepts cochlear implant if I pay deductible that medicare can pay up to 60 thousand dollars limit. I know each cochlear implant surgery costs least 60 thousand dollars. I always pay medicare since 1999 as long as I work my secure job.

I only paid 20 dollars to have my hemorrhoid surgery that all! :) Whew!

Medicare only available for SSDI/SS period! If you don't have any SSDI or SS retirement income then NOPE, not qualified for Medicare, P E R I O D.

If don't have SSI/SSDI/SS, and don't have job then Medicaid may be available. If have job, depends on income, it is all entirely up to local mediciaid branch decide who qualifies or not.

Yea, if he is making up 8 fake identities then it is possible! I am sure this is what is happening lately and not yet uncovered... Soon or later, they will be uncovered. I wouldn't be surprise!

I get $616 a month, food stamp included and I got medicaid, I only have to
pay $5 or nothing for any medicine for example skin cream at walgreens, because medicaid cover most of cost.

u do not have medicare.. u are not retired?? medicare will not cover for you and your kids .. u have to get medicaid for kids if you are not working and is retired and is on ss then. you just have a regular health insurance. jeez..

Hey lucia.. u said that u have medicaid but its called QMB which stand for Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB)

This is a state program, similar to medical assistance, for people who need help paying for Medicare services. You must be eligible for Medicare Part A (even if not currently enrolled)
But NOT financially eligible for medical assistance And have limited income and assets. Pays your Medicare part A and B deductibles, co-payments and premiums. and not to forget the program called Medicare Prescription Drug Program which is only $1, $3, $5 and $7 depend on brands of medicines.

You may want to check into what medicare can offer you, and go with that. Reasoning dictates, however, that supplemental income is always best. You might also be able to receive both. So, do some checking around. Please don't rely on us alone. The payments vary from state to state, so it's not good to go by what we tell you alone. Do some comparisons, and make your determination that way.

and not to forget that it all depend on people and how many years they worked? especially credits. Really it varies especially since many people worked for many years or part time or even never worked? Not everyone have same credits and it varies from states to states. It is best to ask the SS office yourself, Royalmajesty.. ok.. :)

No, I am an architectural designer/drafter. My boss is a licensed architect. I work for a medium-sized architectural firm.

My boss knows little ASL before I got hired last year. He has a deaf 17-year-old neice in Utah. Now his ASL skills is much improved...

Medicare is NOT just for retirees. They can be used for person with disabilities that gets SSDI checks.
