How long does it take to get Social Security?

I need to have them take out the maximum because Hubby is self employed. We're always in the tax hole.

Maybe you should let them know this before the payments commence?

He didn't see anything "wrong" or missing. He said that's just how long it takes to process. He kept saying, "It takes 30 days to process."

I thought I filled out something about that when I applied but now I'm not sure. I can't access the account now (because it's still in "process") to make any changes. I guess I have to wait for the all-important "letter."

My check will be so small that one or two months won't make too much difference on taxes. Mine will be in the hundreds, not thousands, each month. (Disappointing . . . sigh . . . )
