I remember one time my hearing friend... He told me that he met a deaf guy and showed me what he paid one buck for this card and he said it's cool!
I told him "Fuck that! I'm deaf too and I don't need to try to peddle around for some petty cash!" He was like "Oh I see and maybe I'm getting this"

Well, that kind of embarrasing for me since I'm deaf too...

Then some other hearing friends get that too from some other deafies who asks for one or few more bucks repeatedly...

I said "How sad, and sorry to hear about this"

Well, that must be so annoying for other people.

Knew some old deaf guys selling this ABC cards for dopes... Weed... Crack... beers? :ugh:

I always hate this stupid scam to make look deaf people less superior. Look at the bright side, the people who sell them have bad and risky life.

That's something I would like to "bust" their assess off when I see in the public. I never seen those people who sell the cards but my brother got it for a buck and I told him it was not real deaf person. He didn't know about and he learned his lesson. :o
 
Its just that ABC cards make Deafies like us who most in here either working or looking fer work look so bad.

I put in long hours to make some $ to feed me family and the guy peddling those damned things that others cud get fer FREE is making a killing in only a few hours grrrrrr



Also being B U S T E D by the cops is a risk plus getting audited by the IRS that is going to make the cops look pleasant ...oh well
 
Well, in USA deaf ppls would find jobs instead, In ukraine hard find jobs at all so deaf ppl went Germany and other in Europe to sell key chain e.t.c. ofc, they got busted and departed back their home country for first time if another they would stay in jail there. My friend's husband run away he couldnt visit in France again never he has got busted many times :) now he tried to sell in UK hard cops departed him home back, sad of Ukrainian ppl seeks money to support their life and family
 
a pen with sign language card sells everything in USA is an illegeal is not it? Never Heard!!!!!!!!! why is that its illegeal?

there is few things that i can think of it as illegal because of scam .... there is no tax and not report to IRS how much they earn ... also few hearing use deafies' exusce to sell the cards ..
 
also, u notice that the homeless ppl wouldn't walk up to anybody to ask for money if they do then they will end up into jail just like what Denver law did as they said homeless ppl cannot be nearby atm access or bank .. if they do then they will end up into jail... just like sell card to go to ppl and ask for money just same idea ... but all homeless can do is sit down or stand and shut themselves and let ppl decide to drop in the money or not .. as long as the homeless can't say i need money or can u give me money etc ....

I hope it does make sense

If I was homeless, I'll do something to get in jail since it's a better place than a place with no roof.

I'm strongly opposed to that idea. It gives people a message that we as deaf people cannot get jobs and be independent and work hard to earn our money. Therefore, they think we are weaker than they are and are beggers. These kind of people passing around those cards asking for donations are cheating people, not only that, they're also labeling us wrongly (stereotyping).

Because it's fucking difficult for many deafies like me to find
a very good high paying jobs... and my lawyers said that
this is NOT against the law as long as you sell any product
and report to IRS... and if I do not have a job, then
I might go ahead and sell ABC card for $20 each card
instead of $1 due to the cost of living etc...
and because it is LEGAL I make
the cards myself and I make a decision how much to charge..
it's almost the same as Hallmark card !!! almost
same as a book....like a business....
does this make any sense ? and anyone
who is willing to teach sign language for free is a fool...
we need money to make a living !!!!

Any business with any product no matter what is still LEGAL !!!!

P.S. I have NEVER sell ABC card myself, but I already had seen
very few... maybe 2 different times in my life.
I realize it's nothing wrong with it... it is better
to exchange ABC card for money, much better than
begging for no exchange at all. If you exchange
something, then that is NOT begging at all....

Hope this makes sense after some deep thoughts....
 
One more thing: I would get PISSED OFF only if
a hearing person pretending to be deaf selling or
making profits

hey thats one thing, very intersting to me.. last fall , i got arrested for one warrant which i am not aware of.. and was spend over night in holding room.. lucky me that I had those 5 awesome funny ladies.. (not voilence).. all of us admitted what they did.. or.. they confused like me.. why did i have warrant or etc..
one was theft, I asked mind me.. why? she said because i dont have a place to live and dont want sitting out this cold.. so she stole something then she can spend in jail and food... I was shock, and go awe.. because i didnt realized that some people do that.. no wonder we spend on so much tax... :\
but still, there are shelters that you can stay in.

Yep that is true. I had a similar story but it wasn't me in the jail. I worked as a part time jailer for only few weeks. I had talked with someone who spent in the jail for a week because he broke some business's window and waited for the police to come and pick him up. He says that the shelters around here weren't as great compared to the jail's peanut and jelly sandwiches.
 
I would make them suffer by taking whatever money they made and burn their cards and hand the money over to charity.
