How can you feel so excited when sad?

Got my trackin info from the guy in florida, My headlights will be in on Tuesday, Inspection should be good to go on Wednesday !!!! Woot !!!!

Priced my insurance, $135 every 6 months....even more wooting !!!!

No technical colleges around your area?

None that have automotive courses. Seems most stuff around here is geared toward strictly medical/ nursing fields.

Is that full coverage? In order to afford my auto insurance I had to list my father as the primary driver and most recently I dropped my comprehensive coverage as it was $2,000 deductible and if I wrecked, there is no way I could pay that deductible anyway, so I cut that and now I pay about $45 a month about $270 every six months. I have to oay monthly because at no time do I have enought money to make a six month payment.

My motorcycle has full coverage, vanishing deductible and roadside assistance and it's $165 every 12 months. Hope your pickup passes inspection.

That's a shame. Tech schools usually offer a great variety of courses. Our tech school here is almost a tech university; not in offering higher degrees, of course, but in the expanse and variety of offerings. It also has one huge campus and several satellite campuses, with courses offered from early morning to late night, including weekends, and on-line. They also have extensive offerings for non-credit continuing ed classes.

I thought for sure Virginia would have lots of schools available.

I think it also depends on which state you live in. Some states have generally higher rates. My state has high rates. I pay almost $600 per year for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (full coverage). I have no tickets on my record, and I drive less than 20 miles per week. We have multi-car discount. Hubby and I are the only drivers.

Automotive Program at the Alexandria Campus, Northern Virginia Community College

I do not know where you live in Virginia but this collage has a course in auto mechanics , it took me about 3 min. to find it.

Just a step above basic liability, its just going to be a daily beater, but if I end up fixing it up for show or something then I will go full on with insurance. $900 truck isn't worth spending a fortune on in insurance. But being the value of the truck in KBB is $4500. I might step it up to a low full coverage package just so if something does happen I will at least be able to find another set of wheels.

I had no way of knowing that , you could call the collage and asked if they know of any places near you . They might have some ideas .

I realise you had no way of knowing, but I have tried searching the community college system since I attend one, I can check the listings for the entire VCCS system and there are no local courses listed for automotive field.

I gave up trying to find a way to learn about cars long ago, but I'd still like to learn and have those skills.

Just make sure its the delivery guy and not a cop, I made that mistake once and it was awkward closing the door in his face, but only for a few seconds.

Warrant Served? LMAO

I don't have that issue.

That is good idea watching FedEx like a hawk the way they been delivering people packages lately. You don't want a jerk or kicking throwing your headlights to your front door.

Out here is a small town, local.... everyone knows everyone to an extent so fedex, ups and FedUps are pretty mellow with the packages. They actually come up and ring the doorbell so they take care of the packages here ( for now anyways)

Well, Truck didn't pass.
It passed emissions but failed safety. Needs windshield and inner tie rod. Simple fix, but will have to wait til next month as I just ordered all the drywall to complete the house, being delivered tomorrow.

I don't have full coverage, I have liability and coverage against vandalism, hitting deer and nature. If I total my car, I don't get payment from them to get a new one, unless someone else is at fault.

I'm waiting on the DMV to send me my documentation showing my change in gender on my license, then my insurance rate will go down a bit. I'm looking out for that letter to finally come in the mail. Luckily VA's DMVs in this part of the state are never that busy, so when I get the letter, it shouldn't take too long in line, but I Virginia mails it's licenses out, they don't just make them on the spot anymore. :(

Are you illegally driving that pickup despite failing the inspection? I drove around for over 6 months with mine expired until I got caught because I had to drive to the scene of my brother's accident and a cop spotted it.

Nope, sitting in the driveway. I don't do all that illegal stuff, I don't want to be another ass out on the road.

Good news, truck is getting repaired Tuesday and getting the green light to get it legal.
