If you get Sorenson VP 200 - they will provide you a Router free of charge.Forget to ask what about router?
(Well, I will keep OJO just in case)The 10 digit number is a mask over the actual IP number...
I am sure once you get the VP installed, a 10 digit number will be provided...
Just make sure your router is set up and running BEFORE the installer comes...
I called sorenson earlier today, the installer will be contact me by email for schedule.
Yes, they will provide me with a router because I told them that standard modem doesn't have built in router which I didn't know. Standard modem (from AT&T) is on the way to my home next week. I learned something new about router and VP too. This will be my first time with sorenson VP, I'm kinda excited![]()
Well, I dump my OJO for SEXY sorenson VP(Well, I will keep OJO just in case)

Yes, this is fact, since VP is Internet based system, meaning they are required to use TCP/IP in order to function, the IP address you see is actually TCP/IP. Without this, even with 10 digit number it won't work!.
Well, is that wireless router? I ordered the standard DSL modem.
does not matter which one, still 99% of DSL modem has built in router while about 80% of cable modem does not have router built in.
Well. Some of DSL modem with built-in router still don't have firewall setting.
That is very rare, I havent seen one without firewall buillt in so far,
some of them the firewall actually buried deep, you have to look harder, this includes Motorola DSL modem, and embarq 660 series.
Westell all models have firewall/router Even with FiOS (New Westell modem support FiOS, and I think it is 9100 series)
2wire all models have firewall/router
Motorola 2210 and 3327 has built in firewwall
Actiontec modem all models have firewall/router Even with FiOS (Mi424)
AT&T offers either 2wire or Motorola modems
Wireless routers and VPs dont get along...

Then it rare for you. It's all depend on ISP and area. I see there are plenty of SBC DSL modem without firewall setting.
Here a picture exactly like that. Good luck with this and let me know when you find the firewall setting.
