Homelessness Claims Growing Number of Unemployed Middle Class

I think we are all capable of thinking in terms of trillions. Please stop underestimating the American public.

Just a fact. There are those who do not understand just how big a trillion dollar is like. It's hard for many to visualize that amount.

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

When it comes to down to pure numbers people do not realize how vast and cumbersome a trillion becomes. But Obama has in mind to spend nearly $2 trillion dollars over budget for this year. Just double the amount on what you see in the last picture in that link I provided.

So, yes, many people *are* clueless on what a trillion dollar looks like. Stop being soooo defensive.

OIC. You are the only one around here capable of visualizing the tremendous amount of a trillion. Right.

kokonut,

If we're going to talk about spending, why don't we discuss GW Bush and the fact that he created the second largest national debt in U.S. history?

I have criticized Bush and all other presidents for allowing the debt to increase. When Bush took office, the national debt was $5.73 trillion. When he left, it was $10.7 trillion. That's a difference of $4.97 trillion dollars over 8 years. I believe in fiscal responsibility. Do you? Apparently Obama does not believe in it since he's already 1/3 the way to a total of $4.97 trillion dollars in matching Bush's increase in debt. The audacity here is that Obama managed to do that in his first few months as president. Obama will create the largest national debt ever in all of U.S. history. Just watch.

No. Again, I stated that many people *are* clueless on what a trillion dollar looks like. It's a fact. Some people just do not realize how large a number, trillion, is like when it comes to money.

Learn not to be soooo defensive next time. :giggle:

Obama hasn't been in office long enough for you to know what he believes in.

Obama has a LONG way to go before he catches up with Bush in terms of spending. :giggle:

Obama doesn't know what he believes in? No wonder things are crumbling under his administration and the economy. Though it's a bit ridiculous to say he doesn't know what he believes in. Of course, he does. He has a set of beliefs. Every president has something they believe in when going in.

A long way to go? Listen, Obama is *ALREADY* ahead by the mere virtue of having a jump start on the deficit spending spree of $1.8 trillion dollars in less than 3 months!! He has only 3.1 trillion dollars to go, 1/3 of the way to reach Bush's record over a 8 year period. Obama's done it in 3 months...so far.

Way to go Obama! clap..clap...clap...

So you have nothing to complain about Carter adminstration? The national debt was the lowest in his time. I would love to see the national debt to be paid off so America would be strong. Right now, the economy is in trouble and Obama needs to make sure that economy is on the rebound before turning his attention on the national debt. So lay off on Obama for now.

Obama doesn't know what he believes in?

You're a mindreader now?

Interesting how you know what Obama believes or doesn't believe when you aren't Obama himself.

Stop criticizing Obama before he's had a chance to clean up the mess GW Bush left behind.

uh...... the pattern has shown that he doesn't know what he believes in now. For example -

before - criticizing Bush's policy on Gitmo Camp and wars
now - using Bush's policy

before - McCain criticized Obama on Iran stance
now - Obama is following McCain's advice

the pattern keeps going..... that's why he has soft neutral-like stance on most issues. if this keeps up - he's not going to have a chance to clean up the mess at all the way he wanted in the beginning.
