My mother told me that when she was younger, there was a local chapter of the KKK and they targeted the Native American folks in that area since there weren't many African American folks.

Some of those chapters think that adopting a highway will be good PR for them. In reality, they need a place to dump bodies.

The KKK makes me sick and I feel sorry for people who are driven far enough by their hatred to join such a group.

It is illegal to act out on hate crimes. But not illegal to express their hatred.

Kind of an oxymoron to me

Yeah unfortunately we have to put up with it.

I remember one individual I did not want to work with as he believed in sterilizing handicapped people and even told me to my face that I should be sterilized for being deaf.....

Needless to say--I put him in his place.

Yes I've seen it. It's a very good movie. Quite depressing though. Coming from a different generation, I don't feel any anger from watching it. Sadness maybe, but relief that archaic system no longer exists.

The Onion is not real and is nothing more than an entertainment newspaper. They make up all kinds of stories in their articles using different people and different things that have happened and have existed but they use them in their articles and make everything up to make people angry or to make fun of or whatever...it's also considered "inappropriate" for children due to its content and it can be insulting or it can be just funny or whatever...but I would not take anything in that newspaper for truth. They do it to...offend as well as make fun of everything. Like they will say bullshit about Obama that is not true but they want to see if there are some people that will fall for that shit just to make profits, and other people also buy it purely for entertainment purposes. Understand what I mean? I never read The Onion...I remember seeing it for the first time when I was a teenager and I learned that it was not for real, just entertainment, so I have not read it ever since. No point in reading it.
