Holder calling our nation a nation of race cowards.
True jillio, as noted above he called us a nation of race cowards meaning cowardly toward racial issues.

Liberals don't engage in the same type of dichotocous thinking as do the majority of conservatives.
That must be a good chapter you have used that twice today :)
You are enrolled at a highly liberal college I see :) , me too unfortunately.

Well, that would be several good examples of conservatives trend to dichotomous thinking...until of course, they must apply the same to themselves.
oopsie, three times, I stand corrected.

yes at the universities when most liberals have lifetime employment and freedom to accuse anyone without fear of being fired, unliek the real workplace outside of academia
Good Point Duray, and as on topic and related as jillios comments

Heaven forbid!
yes, and thank goodness we now have jillios permission to go back on topic :applause:

So, how about you try to do that now, instead of engaging in personal attacks. Got anything to show that racial relations and the incidence of hate crimes is de-escalating?

Since you are a police officer, do u see a decrease in hate crimes?

True hate crimes, yes.
Crimes motivated by prejudices and discrimination, somewhat.

Every Race/Creed/Color has prejudices and discriminates but that is not necessarily Racism.
Certainly a sticky subject and even stickier to investigate sometimes.

Jillio, again no personal attacks issued but the liberal hate toward anyone conservative is not the Jillio I met here a year or so back.
We may disagree on some things but unless you have completely changed who you are I doubt if the anti-conservative diatribe is truly you.

You are mistaking a disagreement with basic values and philosophies with hate.

Yes, the anti-conservative diatribe is not only me now, but it has always been me. I have never claimed to be anything other than liberal in my views.

How exactly, does one distinguish between crimes committed from a perspective of prejudice and hate crimes. A facet of prejudice is an attitude of hate for another group based on superficial characteristics. Prejudice is the thought process, discrimination is the action.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
Liberals most certainly do, they just refuse to admit they do.

I appreciate your honesty.

A good question, how do you distinguish between acts of racism, acts of prejudice, and acts of discrimination.
I must follow the law.

That isn't what I asked. I asked how you distinquish between hate crimes, and crimes based on prejudice and discrimination.

And, yes, all groups use heuristics to identify in-group and out-group members. That is a well known principle of social psychology and of sociology and has been studied cross culturally and supported. However, that does not mean that all groups engage in hate crimes.

asked and answered, I must follow the law on issues of hate crimes. If it does not meet the elements of a hate crime I can not charge a hate crime.

exactly.

Let's try this again. How do you identify a hate crime? "I must follow the law" is not a response to the question.
