US secret service is investaging Paris Hilton hacking. This is why crime is out of hand in america. Cops are not protecting the lower class people. I had a hacker who hacked into my puter long time ago i went to the police AND THEY DID NOTHING!!! If Paris Hilton was a canadian i gureantee you the canadian royal police would acted in another way. They would brush her off until someone else complains.
Police still protecting the wealthy and politicans

I still think your an idiot

insead of complaining, just accept it

next time you come across an article like that....take a moment of peace to feel bad, and then move on, dont come to this board to complain

There's a difference between having your computer hacked and Paris' Sidekick hacked. When your computer was hacked, did they go public with your information? No. Therefore, they leave that to the anti-virus company or yourself to deal with. However, they published over 500 personal phone numbers, emails, addresses, etc... of her friends. Now, that's going over the line. That gives them good reason to investigate. If your computer was hacked and the hacker published all of your information and everything else on the computer... on the web, then the police would help you. I have seen cases where the police help poor victims because their credit cards, addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information were published to the public on the web. Until you can show us that you are not in any harm from someone publishing your private information, you should chill out.

Here's one of my favorite quotes from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan...

"Were I to invoke logic, however, logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." ~ Spock

In your case, you and only you... are home safe without stalkers or anything. In Paris' case, her and over 500 of her friends are at risk of being stalked and harassed.

Excuse me not only the riches is getting help from the police. There is a low income ppl also getting some help. It happened in the next town over me. She called the police then the police called FBI. So there. Try to relax Please.

The reason they are investigating is because T-mobile or Danger's servers got hacked....that is IF they are investigating. That is why. I couldn't read the story cuz the link didn't work.

Here it is... prostock19  I copied the link for you here...;)

THE US secret service has leapt to the aid of millionairess Paris Hilton after computer hackers raided her mobile phone and published the contents - including a set of raunchy pictures and hundreds of phone numbers - on the internet.

The security agency was frantically pulling the plug on websites that published the phone numbers and email addresses of 500 of her mostly high-profile pals.
The contents of her rather bulging little black book included numbers for Mark Philippoussis, another of his former flames Anna Kournikova, rapper Eminem and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.

One of Hilton's many besieged contacts, reality TV star Victoria Gotti, the daughter of Mafia boss John "Dapper Don" Gotti, said she received 100 calls in two hours as word of the hacking raced around the internet.

"It's driving me insane," she said. Many of the other numbers have now been disconnected.
Eminem's phone number has reportedly since been changed. The voice mailbox of Durst was full and tennis star Kournikova's number was said to be constantly engaged.

The hackers also published dozens of pictures, apparently taken with Hilton's in-built telephone camera, some of which appeared to show the heiress topless and even kissing another woman.

Bryan Zidar, a spokesman for Hilton's mobile phone company T-Mobile, confirmed the details had been unveiled on the internet, but said the sites kept changing as soon as they were shut down by computer crimes investigators from the secret service.

"As soon as one comes up the secret service is all over it," he said. It was not known if her phone was hacked or someone obtained the password, he said.

Hilton is no stranger to the internet. A home sex video, dubbed One Night in Paris, and released against her will by an ex-boyfriend, was reportedly sold for $4.69million and widely distributed online.

they are only investing it because she's a celebrity...

and it would violate thousands of laws if you go off hacking into a celebrity's computer or sidekick or whatever like that, stealing such private information like friends, addresses, phone numbers, etc...then whoever hacked into her sidekick gets his life screwed over forever.

it would still be the same for other people's, but paris hitlion is a celebrity so thats why we heard that her sidekick is being hacked...

where's a container of chill pills when you need one, raven?

See thats what im telling you what my grandfather been telling me all along.
The Police Dont Really Protect You They protect the wealthy and the politicans.
Thats why crime is out of line in america and very safe in canada. Cause cops in canada take the most importaint stuff first then go at petty stuff later.

your grandfather would proably be more comfortable in an retirement home, no offense.

Steve,
Our police department spends more time helping the 'poor' than it does the rich. It is a way of life in many cities.

I'm under the impression that there is more at play here...such as blackmail. Could it be that the hackers tried to extort money out of her (or her friends) before publishing such information? Its one scenario that I've heard since this came about.

Sorry to go off-topic here.

This is a true story that happened to me.

One night, I logged onto MSN and there was someone who wanted to add me onto their contact list so I stupidly accepted.

He started a conversation with me by threatening to come over my place to kill me and my siblings. He even said that he knew my address and has gone by my place a few times.

I was so scared, and my sister, Jaymee was crying. So, I told Jaymee to call the cops... they came over immediately. I printed a copy of the conversation. They said there was nothing they could do, but they sat down with us and talked about the dangers of the Internet. My mother was away on a business trip.

They advised me to find the person's IP address and to block it. I found the person's IP address and blocked it.

So far, I haven't had any problems.

You see, the cops do not only help the rich, they help the poor too.

I wasn't rich and I still am not. Rich or not, police still came over to help me and my siblings.

In the past, there were problems within my family and police were involved and they have been a great assest to us and the entire community.

that was scary as hell.

I know the cops said there was nothing they could do, but did they find his IP address so they could find out which kind of address he uses and perhas they could find the local he's at, and where he is using the computer and all?

it's kind of like tracing the phone call and find out where the person is calling, you know.

Yeah, it turned out that the person was a brother of my sister's friend.

My sister went over to the police after school the next day and explained about the person. The police wasn't happy taht the person was just joking around, so they gave him a warn and said if it happens again, he'd be probably put on community service.

that's good to hear.

what your sister's friend's brother did was very sick and stupid.

who would've thought it would be a joke when someone threatened you to come over and kill you and your family? how the hell is that funny?

I don't think the cops should give him a warning...I think they should've put him on community service immediately.

argh ravensteve is so damn ignorant and stubborn

I think he belongs in a mental asylum

I agree with Taylor. There is alot more to this than you think. There are hundreds of phone numbers to celebrities...and these celebrities have stalkers. This is something bigger than you can imagine steve.

finally someone assumes the same way I do.

that brings me tears due to joy and relief that I'm not the only one in here who assumes that way.

yep...with stalkers, there is something called, "celebrity obsessive freaks".

Ok Let me give you proof cops can get the persons ISP and make a bust.
Read This From this link,

The other side of the coin is that your children must be made to understand that sending threatening e-mail is not an acceptable joke or a minor prank, especially if the threat involves violence. Some children, believing incorrectly that they can mask their real identity, have foolishly sent death threats to the White House; because the Secret Service is obligated by law to investigate all threats to the President and his or her family, agents show up within a few hours to interrogate the miscreants — much to the horror of the children and their parents. For example, Youngsters in grade 10 at Profile High School in Bethlehem, NH sent death threats to the White House Web site from their school computers. The messages were traced within minutes by the Secret Service and the children were suspended from school and lost their Internet privileges for the next two years.
