Help....

225 dollars? Thats nothing and that is STILL cheaper than my car payment! Nowadays car payment for decent cars is around 250 a month with average credit. It is NEVER cheaper to buy new car than to buy old old old car!

Yeah, When you buy a used car, You'll still be making payments, What if your "new" used car break down?, You'll be paying to repair your car and your monthly payment on your new used car. Not worth it, I couldn't afford that. Remember some cars they sell are without warranty, they could sell some cars as it is, and if you car break down you'll be fully responsible for all repairs. You have to think about it, If you can afford payments and if something goes wrong with your car, Can you afford the repairs too? ;)
 
We are paying 97bux weekly payments... for our suv..
Gonna be 1 year on Feburday.. :D

3 more years left to go... Yippie!
 
yeah but i usually get car plms almost every month since july or august. so i had enough and is ready for new used car with good low payment. but i'm not doing it right away though. rather wait til i work and save money

I understand Hun, But; all cars are going to have problems even brand new cars. My sister and her husband both have two brand new cars and they do have problems as well. But, lucky for them, they both have some warranties coverage. :mrgreen:
 
More or less, depends what kind of car and what kind of owner takes care of the used car you're buying. My 1994 Honda Civic was bought used and I paid it monthly and it's paid off in October. It has been running very good and VERY reliable so far for me. The major repairs were replace new front drive axles, that's about it. I've had it so far for 3 years now. :)
 
You probably needed to replace the heater hoses and the theromasts. Right now it's a best time to change it because of winter. If you don't you will have hard time getting a heat and start up the car. Maybe get the water pump checks. While you do the heater hose and thermoast change, get a radiattor flush. I don't take my car to the shop, I can fix it myself. Yea I'm a female right on WOMEN can fix the car!

Also you say on the air intake, it sounds like the PVC that air intakes for the oil. Is it with a smalllest hose?

It is probably the crankcase breather on the valve cover to the air intake hose.
 
Also, if you want a lower car payment the next car, I suggest you save about 5,000 dollars maybe 7,000 it will help big time. I used to have 1998 Ford Explorer brought back in 1998 as brand new for $24,000. They did compared and helped me out, I asked for no money down it ended up 523 dollars a month, ouch! So I had 5,000 plus my old car trade in worth $2,000. It helps big time cost me 382 a month. SO now i got newer car brought last spring 2000 Pontiac Grand AM. My Explorer was worth 5,000 trade in. And i only pay 300 dollars down payment. Cost me 1 year left to pay off at 99 dollars a month right now. Had to get rid of Ford Explorer because of GAS EATER! with 5.0 engine and all wheel drive. Forget it. Grand AM saved me big time.
 
is the leak coming from the bottom of the radiator or top? if its in the bottom.. put cornbread mix in it and it will clog up the hole for a while. Just an old fashion way.. lol OR go to a junkyard and look for the same model of your car and see if the radiator is any good.. can get it for cheap. take it to the shop or you know someone that's a mechanic can put it in for you.

great idea, RebelGirl....Deafscuba98 and oldnavygirl can find a good radiator at pull a part junkyards for very cheap and install it yourself. it isn't hard to swap radiators, anyhow as long it's clean and has no cracks.
 
Oh gosh a Ford Tempo..... I remmy my late uncle had a 84 ford tempo and one day on Friday the 13. I know, I know anyway, He went to the P.O., came out and saw his car was on fire. So he called the fire dept. They came and laughed at him cuz they knew who he was since my late uncle was a volunteer firefighter.

So one day, he traded his car for another car. Then someone brought his car and one week later it was a wrecked in the accident. See bad luck with that car. LOL Ford is sucks!!! I hate them.

Rather have Jeep Grand Cherokee. :D

uh, really? Are you talking about food putting in the radiator?

My friend put some metal powder in my GMC truck's radiator to prevent the leak. Actually, it was a bad idea because my main frame (motor) was damaged a few months later. The powder metal formed a rock then went thru the motor from the radiator. I had someone to rebuild the main frame, and it was a major job. I bought my Ford Explorer and get rid of my old truck. I learned my lesson.

My ex-husband is a mechanic and he had a 88 K-5.. he had problems with the leaking in the radiator so he put about maybe 1 cup of cornbread mix in the radiator and it worked for a while.. while he was saving money for a new radiator... but i was scared to use that though. I was like "ARE YOU CRAZY???"
 
I almost never buy used cars but if I ever do, I think the best place to look for them (generally speaking) is at new car dealerships because these dealerships with reputations to maintain only keep the BEST of the used cars they take in trade and then sell them. All other cars they take in trade go to an auction group. These used cars from the dealer I believe are your best bet, overall......
