My husband and I are hearing, but my mother-in-law is hard of hearing. She does not know sign language. We want to call her, but we don't want to use a relay system because usually she discusses very personal issues. Does anyone know of a device, system or voice recognition softeware, whereby, we can talk into our phone, but what we say will come up as writing on her phone or on an attached computer screen? Thank you.

Lois

How about amplified phones ? They can be adjusted for hoh people ( like me ). Does she wear a hearing aid ? New hearing aids have telecoil settings for better use of phones.

If you guess can learn sign language then your MIL can get vp one for her and one for youself. That way you guys can communication personnel without worry. or use the computer IM like yahoo or aim. One other way is the old fashion way would be TTY *telephone typewriter* They have dies down but you can try to use that since you guys can read or type.

Here's a link where you can order and buy a TTY Harris Communications

also when you're on the road and you want to get ahold of your mother in law, you can also get a sidekick or a blackberry Harris Communications

Harris Communications has everything that you may need or looking for, good luck :)

Pager as blackberry or sidekick Tmobile with text message! :):)

addition Webvideo on her computer and your computer

Trust me, I know it's very uncomfortable talking about personal issues but after while you or your mother-in-law might get used to relay service. Their policy they cannot share any conversation with anyone from relay calls. It's like shake and forget it...
