Reason Why I'm posting here..

Alikely you know me due allergic seafoods but actually I've wanted to make smoked salmon for my husband's bday special Easter Day.. instead HAM..

My husband knew my rules not allowed seafoods in my house due horrible smell... odors coming from tuna, salmon or others kinds... sometimes He sneaky and unopened the canned tuna or salmon in my kitchen.. *hurries before I'll stormed into the kitchen* Quite time he smart.. and spray kill scent the odors fishy... How's so smart enough he is? LOL

btw, My feeling was thought and mixes feelings.. I made up my decision and wanted to cook special smokey salmon for my husband's birthday same day of Easter Day.. Really his birthday April 16th.. So um,

Anyone expert smoked salmon...
Brings it out here the recipies pretty please... Doesn't matter vary recipies.. til I'll pick it out your recipies.. Depends what I have shelves cupboards.. :)
I will buy smoked salmon VERY FRESH meat.. okay

I'll use oven or BBQ... Tell me which the best use oven or BBQ...

:ty:

I like to cook salmon and some other seafoods once in a while but I've never tried with smoked salmon though. Umm maybe you could look it up on the internet to see if you can find a recipe for smoked salmon? Yes, it is best to buy fresh salmon from a market.

By the way, I use either oven or a bbq grill to cook a salmon. If you are allergic to smelling seafoods then a bbq grill would be the best for you so the odor can escape outside not inside.

I have never heard of cooking smoked salmon. Smoked salmon are usually cooked before you buy them at store.

Fresh salmon is what you usually bake or grill. Grilling salmon would be better for you due to your allergy as the smell wont penetrate your house. I usually cover salmon with foil after putting in lemon and dill on fish then cook for about 20 minutes, depending on thickness of salmon.

I eat smoked and grilled salmon alot so Im sure that your husband will enjoy his salmon on his bday!

thats would make ur hunny surprise big time.

Well i am not knowledge to cook seafood but batter catfish to fry and shrimps that's it. I never like salomen. I'm sure cookbook on internet will help you out. Hopefully u could go through. But u can try to use doctor mask while cook.. Grill outside is best way than inside so u won't be suffer. I can't stand smell seafood in the house EITHER! Make me puke.. Weird. even though I love to eat seafoods

I've never cooked Smoke salmon before, but I've cooked Potato-Crusted Salmon, If you would like the recipe for it.

Get one pound of salmon, trout or other medium fish fillets about 3/4 inches stick

1 egg
1 tablespoon of water
1/3 cup of mashed poatoes mix (dry)
2 teaspoons of cornstarch
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of lemon pepper
2 table spoon of vegetable oil

cut fish into four serving pieces. Beat eggs and water with fork. Mix potato mix, cornstarch, paprika and lemon pepper, dip just the top and sides of the fish into egg then press into potato mixture.

Heat oil in 10 inches skillet over medium high heat. Cook fish, potato side down in oil for 3 minutes Carefully turn the fish with wide spotted spatula. Reduce heat to medium. Cook about 3 more minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with fork.

This is pretty good, I've cooked it before, but that's up to you if you want to cook that for your husband. ;)

My dad is a good cooker for salmon and other seafoods.. He always go up to New York for salmon fishing trip for a week and caught 15 salmons and brought home and freeze them. I don't eat them. I hate seafoods and I hate fish...

I stole my dad's recipes book from garage, and will bring the book back.. SO here are his recipes...

Smoked Salmon Stuffed Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:
3/4 lb Smoked Salmon
6 baking Potatoes
1/2 cup hot Milk
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 cup Onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup Parsley, finely chopped
1/2 cup fine Bread Crumbs
1/4 cup melted Butter

Directions:
Bake potatoes as usual. Cut in half lengthwise while still hot. Carefully scoop potato out of shells keeping shells intact for stuffing. Mash potato, adding hot milk and beat until fluffy. Flake and mash smoked salmon and add it along with the chopped parsley and onion to the potatoes. Beat egg and seasonings together and combine with mix, folding all together. Heap mixture into potato shells. In a small bowl, mix bread crumbs with butter, then sprinkle over potatoes. Bake 20 minutes at 350F or until browned.

Smoked Salmon Fettuccine

Ingredients:
1/2 lb. Smoked Salmon
2 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Flour
1 cup Milk
1 Tbsp chopped Parsley
12 medium pit-less black olives, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp Sour Cream
3 Tbsp Scotch or Bourbon
3/4 to 1 lb. Pasta

Directions:
Melt butter. Whisk in flour. Gradually add milk and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until thick. Add scotch, salmon and parsley. Cook pasta and drain well. Add smoked salmon mixture to pasta and blend well. Serve fettuccine in large bowl or in individual shallow bowls. Sprinkle with paprika and parmesan cheese.

Hope this would help...

I do with salmons often.

I think you mean fresh salmon, not smoked salmon.

It's my favorite dish... very simple to cook like this.

Put the fresh salmon in boiling water to cover with lid. Just sprinkle salt in boiling water and add the fresh salmon in boiling water. Low the gas/electricity... It should be boil slowly until cooked.

Prepare parsley sauce.
Do you have packet of parsley sauce or white sauce in Canada? Do you want homemade white sauce or ready packet white sauce or parsley sauce? After white sauce done, then add finely chopped chives and parsley into hot white sauce.

Serve potatoes and mixed vegetable or whatever vegetable you like OR green salad to boil salmon with parsley sauce... mmmhhhhh

You should not cook smoked salmon because they are already cooked. Use fresh salmon to cook...

Good Luck :thumb:

Eww I don't like salmon but it was nice of you to cook that for your hubby, he's going to love that surprise ....

My Hubby likes salmon patties but I can't stand how they stink when he cooks them in the oven. So, he always uses the outdoor grill to cook them. It's a wonderful solution.

If possible, use your outdoor grill for cooking foods that can stink up the kitchen. :P

OoO I love Smoked Salmon/ or Salmon, especially Sockeye fish and King Salmon.
Good luck with posters' recipes. Hope your husband likes 'em.

smoked salmon recipes

Easy cook?
Use BBQ only.

It isn't heavy cooking if you can tell the time the limit is 3 minutes, and then another 3 minutes add that up to 6 minutes should be done with cooking. But, Hun I was only trying to make you feel bad for me. :giggle:

Whatever you prefer to cook for your lovely husband, Let me know how it went and Good luck to you.
