5 Winter Weather Tips for your pets
1.) Protect those paws
Keep paws and fur clean from salt, antifreeze and other toxic chemicals used outside during colder months. Wipe paws after each walk or pick up some paw protectors at Unleashed by PETCO.
2.) Tuck them in
Keep your pets warm and cozy with a sleeping area away from cold drafts.
3.) Let them tag along
Don't leave your pet in the car. When the engine is turned off, a car keeps cold air in like a refrigerator.
4.) Don't get on thin ice
Keep dogs leashed around the water. The ice that forms on rivers, lakes and ponds might be too thin to support your pet.
5.) Limit outdoor playtime
Especially senior and younger pets are more susceptible to the effects of cold weather.
