Hello everyone!

My name is Erin and I found out I have moderate reverse slope hearing loss almost exactly 3 years ago at 21. I got BTE hearing aids and it has taken me years to adjust to them, but I am finally at a point where I can wear them for at least 8 hours a day.

I live in a small town with pretty much no Deaf/HOH community (that I know of) and it can be lonely not having anyone who really understands how exhausting it can be trying to keep up with conversation which is why I joined all deaf :)

Hi! You may never know there are deaf / hoh people live in your area.

Are you Christian or Catholic by any chance? There are Christian/Catholic summer camps for dhh adults

Greeting! Thank you for bringing this up and sharing your desire to reach out to the deaf and HH adults.

I am a Christian (Lutheran). Do you mind sharing more about Christian summer camps for the deaf and HH? We do have an annual deaf/HH retreat in Illinois. This is open to anyone who wish to meet others and learn about God’s Word. Not only do we have retreat but we also have workshops, convention, and women retreat.

What’s your faith background? I hope to hear from you.

I don't follow any one Faith Path but I like getting info about Deaf Christian camps and schools to the Christian community so dhh Christian children can be helped through that path. So many dhh kids are mainstreamed to the max which breaks my heart.....Here are the Deaf Christian resources......https://deafministriesconnection.wordpress.com/ http://campdove.org/about.htm http://www.silentblessings.org/deaf-camp-at-warner/ http://www.gmdeaf.org/camp/nwccd.html http://www.ljca.org/deaf-camp.html There's also some Deaf Christian Schools, including two new ones in Arizona and one in Waco Texas

For all users at alldeaf, if you want any adult gathering information in Illinois, I would be more than happy to connect you with some information. Just let me know. Also there’s happen to be a Christian School in Michigan called St. Martin Lutheran School for the Deaf in Dearborn, MI. I do know some pastors and staff there.

We also have Jesus Sign Workshop that is open to both hearing and deaf people regardless of faith background. The link is http://www.lutherandeafoutreach.org/

Deafdyke, thank you for sharing this great information with us. I appreciate for your help and I look forward to get to know you better!

God’s blessings
