Hello, my name is Analy Salinas... I have taken ASL before and I want to keep learning and practicing..but I'm scared I won't be doing it right! I'm not looking just to practice, I want to make friends but like I said I'm just too scared.

What, exactly, are you scared of? Are you afraid you might sign incorrectly? I've seen fluent ASL users have to respell words, or improperly sign something. It happens to every user of every language. Don't let fear keep you on the sidelines.

I will give you one more piece of advice...don't try to learn from another beginner. That's not helpful. It's "the blind leading the blind". Practice is one thing, learning new signs is another. The best thing to do is find out where you local Deaf community hangs out and go introduce yourself. If that scares you...well, I'm guessing normal conversations with hearing strangers doesn't go much better. Just do it! Watch and try to comprehend. It is difficukt at first, but you will eventually get the hang of it.

Good luck!

I'm really scared to see how people pronounce your name. :Ohno:
