In short, the answer is no. He was charged with first degree murder and aquitted. Under the law, no other charge fits the crime. At best, second degree murder wouldn't even come close to fulfilling what happened to them.

But, also, remember... He's been convicted of burglary/robbery. He's serving a lenghly sentence for that. He's also in his 60s now. This is still payback; in that, he has forfeited his freedom and is now labelled a convicted felon. Something that, I'm sure, he never thought would happen.

Like what? I think he was charged with first degree murder. Do you mean can California charge him with second degree murder, manslaughter, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter (as well as assault and battery, assault, and battery)?

Exactly. He was charged with the highest degree of murder there is, which fit the circumstances of the crime. To charge him with anything less would not be justice. As I eluded to in another post, he's already got himself in trouble again, and the sentence was lenghthly, so why not let him rot in prison?

As I said also, trying to extract a confession from this man is fruitless and rather arrogant. It's been said in the thread that the report was false, and I rather hope so. It would make Oprah look rather stupid to go chasing him down when he's sitting in a jail cell paying for other crimes.

I think it's better left alone. OJ probably craves attention, and the only way to deal with someone like him is to ignore him.
