Peter Jackson, the acclaimed director well known for the Lord of The Rings triogly and his next upcoming film, Kong King which will be released into theatres this december has been rumored to direct one of the best selling games in gaming history, Halo into the silver screen.

I wouldn't really know about this, but since I did love the LoTR triogly and thought it was pure genius...great cast of actors, actresses, awesome computer effects and well written storyline, etc. So I'm pretty curious of seeing King Kong, and if it comes out to be pretty good, with great actors including Jack Black and others and even a well written story and even jaw-dropping neat-o computer effects also, etc...then I wouldn't mind him trying Halo as I heard rumors that he would even bring in computer animated characters like the elites, brutes, and other types of aliens come to life on the silver screen. much like Star Wars' Jar Jar binks and the evil little guy who's so depearate for the ring in the LoTR, etc...that would definetly be awesome.

But for now, it's just a bunch of rumors and we wouldn't know for sure...although we heard that director who've directed House of The Dead and Alone in The Dark might direct Halo but Mircosoft and Bungie refused to have any directors who makes such crappy and gay films and want someone who is very serious, very creative, and very smart of creating a videogame-based film since the orginal Resident Evil which seems to be the only videogame-based film I TRULY loved best.

I'm definetly dying to see Halo someday.

although I just know the director who've made alone in the dark and house of the dead has already directed "bloodrayne" as I love those games on the Xbox, and I've seen the preview...sadly, I didnt like it one bit. very very very crappy.

I can't wait to see the movie. This should be interesting... especially the armor designs. :)

No word on who's directing it yet though.

friggin' sweet.

still, I would kinda like Peter Jackson to direct the film though.

wouldn't be surprised if the film is based upon on the next Halo sequel on Xbox360...must be one of summer's greatest box office hits or something.

(I hope.)

I'd rather for the Halo movie to go 3 parts like the games. If Peter Jackson's being involved as producer, I'd take this as a sign that it may go like Lords of the Ring triology.

I think there may be a background story in the movie like how John-117 became the MC (as detailed in Eric Nylund's "Halo: The Fall of Reach" book)....but then Im not holding my breath.....

But having Peter Jackson in a producer's role is good news for the Halo movie project :)

WOW! The descriptions given based on the script is sounding really, really good. Obviously, the game developers know their materials better than the frickin' Hollywood screenwriters.

They hired a screenwriter, but dictated what will happen and what will not. Bungie and Microsoft developed their OWN ideas and gave all of it to the screenwriter to write it all down.

Only had they done this with the past movies based on video games. This may be the first movie based on a video game that will actually rock your socks off!

No, Tomb Raider wasn't that good. Nowhere that good.

Can't wait, especially with Peter Jackson involved with the production as an executive producer. Hopefully they'll pick a great director to do it.

The only videogame-based film that I thought was absloutely good was "Resident Evil."

that's it.

But hey...that IS a damned good script alright...Thank God for choosing Peter Jackson as producer and Alex Garland as the screen writer.

There IS a God after all. :D

DAMN! I read the article and I am now really stoked for the Halo movie! The opening scene looks like a more violent version of the Omaha Beach assault scene in "Saving Private Ryan". The movie's opening brings to mind about the opening battle scene in "The Fall of Reach" novel. So I should appreciate that Bungie and M$ not only used both games, by adding elements from the 3 Halo novels in the movie script.

Looks like the Halo movie will be a sure-fire "R" rated based on the script.

lol... the game's rated "M" so if the movie's goin to be rated "R" then it makes perfect sense. :D
