halo before playing halo 2

i just got halo 2 and of course xbox for christmas while ago. should i play halo first then play halo 2 ? i play halo 2 somewhere in level 2(normal) but i couldnt find my time to play at whole time.

anyway should i get halo before i play halo 2 ? just thought. it wud be cool if i play halo on xbox live with one of you.

My advice Play Halo 1 before playing H-2.

Also read the 3 Halo books, "The Fall of Reach" (the story before the Halo 1 game), "The Flood" (during the Halo 1 game) and "First Strike" (after Halo 1 but before Halo 2)

also warn ya that Halo 1 aint subtitled but Halo 2 is......
 
why would I need to play Halo 1 before playing halo 2?

You could understand about 70% of the story from Halo 2 alone. If you played Halo 1 before Halo 2, you'd understand the story 100%. Of course, overall... Halo 1 and Halo 2 is only %60 out of the whole thing including the books.
 
yea that is what i thought ! many thanks i ll go to media play to buy halo 1 with gift certificate tmw.

i never knew there are books of halo. what s a name of arthur that wrote these books?
 
Today i finally bought halo 1. whew. it was hard to find it, anyway.

i saw halo 2 guidebook with map. is it worth to buy it ?
 
I agree with the poster above, I brought both Halo and Halo 2 for my boys for Christmas and they both are playing the Halo first before playing the Halo 2.....

They've been busy playing games since Christmas since they got serveral more games to play....that will keep things peace and quiet here... :thumb:

Gudebook? Well, that depends on you. If it was a game like Zelda, then I'd recommend getting a player's guide. However, you can't really get lost in a game like Halo. Everything is pretty much one-way. You play the whole game in sequence... one level after another. In Zelda, you play one huge map... and will be moving back and forth constantly. That's why I would recommend a guide for Zelda. I would also recommend a guide for Metroid cuz that's similar to Zelda.
 
That's quite true Vampy...and I've even tried to explain that to Defmatrix when he said that guidbooks would only ruin your experiences in videogames...lol

but of course, games like Metroid and Zelda are quite confusing and you could get lost so easy sometimes, so yeah thats when you would need a guidebook since games like Metroid and Zelda are actually more complicated than Halo and afew other games which doesn't exactly involve exploring like Metroid and RPG adventure like Zelda...however, in Halo, it's a FPS title so all you do is just shoot most of the time, while other things you can ride on the warthog or the ghost, etc...so naw, it's not really too confusing though I did get kind of lost a couple times in Halo 2...lol but already got figured out quickly anyway.

steel and vampy: ok i take ur tips. but let me finish halo 1 first then i wud know how to fight before go into halo 2. my hands were shaking from fighting with the convenant somewhere in level 3(normal). i get killed instantly like every 5 to 10 sec repeatly. lol. - me vs ~15 convenants. :popcorn:

Eric Nylund did "Fall of Reach" and "First Strike" while William Dietz wrote "The Flood"

you can buy all 3 for 20 bucks in one package at the books-a-million or barnes and noble. Look for it in the Science Fiction aisle.

deafclimber, I advice you better playing halo part 1 before H2. Halo 1 is more challenge fun around. you no need to get guide book. H1 and H2 games are not alike Zelda. you can playing halo 1 and 2 without guidebook. trust me. Good luck!

FYI: i did play halo 1 last nite. wow ! i love it. right now i got landed on earth from space. is that level 2: Halo. i get killed at bridge instantly.... grrrr ! now i m taking a break ! whew. it was fun.

hey yea i really enjoy xbox very much ! i m going to get a speaker system for xbox ! so i can feel a vibration from xbox ! lol

right now i am in truth and reconcilation level. i m trying to find my time to play halo.
