Had a broken nose before? Well.....

Welllll.. here's what I got from the dr.

Jacey had cracked the left side of her nose but no surgery. He also said to just let it grow back together and she'll be fine. BUT it might be a little crooked. That's all I got... So, she's like almost the rest of us.. we all got crooked nose! She just joined the club! :laugh2:

Yes then i become addicted to nose spray for 8 months.. untill i saw nose specialist... he made me quitting using nose spray for a week before he can do surgery on me... i quit completely then i had surgery... i felt lots better... you need to stop using nose spray before you can be addicted.. i did not realize i was addicted to it until dr explained to me everything..

People who suffer from chronic sinusitis or allergic rhinitis who use OTC nasal decongestants (oxymetazoline, or neosynephrine) can develop a "refractory" nasal congestion if they stop using it after having used them for a period of time. These shouldn't be used for >3 days because of these side effects. Flonase or Nasonex are excellent meds for the chronic problems.

Jacey? I love that name. That reminds me of a girl I worked with at Sizzler for years whom I had a big crush on. I'd like to name one of my daugters Jacey. :giggle: Anyway I hope her nose gets better. Usually a fractured nose will be fine. Sometimes though, such as severe trauma to the face or a vehicle accident where someone smashes their face into the steering wheel or dashboard, the sphenoid bone or ethmoid bone in the nose can actually tear into the duramatter surrounding the brain. The nasal bones have obtuse pointed edges on them in places. After a fracture(s) a person can develop a chronic sinusitis due to the residual trauma. Some have difficulty breathing, or just a hard time breathing at night. This is because a deviated septum, which was already mentioned. Most people who have a deviated septum is just due to a congenital thing, other case being from a fracture. This is a very easily repaired thing though today.

Jaci is her birth name. Since birth, we've had people calling her name "Jackie" and I'm having to tell them its Jaci as in JC but with a long A. So I change it as a Nickname Jacey .. then when she started Kindergarten.. for some reason it went back to Jaci followed by her birth name. and just recently.. Jaci asked me if it was okay to change her name back to Jacey because She's tired of hearing teachers and staffs calling her "jackie" so I gave her permission to change it. Since then.. we've had nooo problem with them calling her Jacey and say it the right way! Jacey is in the 4th grade now. I guess its the age thing.. hmmm IF you ever have a daughter.. it would be awesome if you have a name like that. something unique, i think. it can be spelled like Jaci, Jacie, Jacey, Jaycee, Jaycie but I picked Jaci because my ex husband wanted that one. but I got to pick the middle name myself...

as far as her nose.. i'm just glad it wasn't anything serious. right now, she's not showing any signs of sinuses or any complaint yet.. if she does show, i'll contact the dr. I rather just get her nose fixed than wait 30 years later. I'm 32 and i've got "hell" with my nose (sinus infection constantly) and my dr does nothing.. she just gave me Nasonex (works great) and pills. its been going on I would say.. at least 8 or 9 years now. so yeah.. i'm going to do something if Jacey does show any signs of difficult breathing, constantly getting a cold (sinus). thanks for the infos!!!

I had broken nose few years ago. I didn't relized it causes sinus?? I had been complaining about my sinus for many days lately. Maybe I should go see the doctor ask to check my nose. I never went to the doctor after my nose was broken cuz it wasn't too bad. after my bleeding has stopped but swollen alittle bit.

yeah it does affect from broken nose or just natural cause to have sinus infection.

Remind me that in my residence (dorm) after school that few ppl play baseball that I was play SS not on 1st base , 2nd base, 3rd base and homerun base something like that :) .. that the guys cant said name that same as mine to play SS something cant remember name ANYWAY! the ball was gonna straight to the guy and didnt catch the ball so he picked up the ball from on the ground then threw at other guy too fast and wasnt expect it hit other guy's nose really badly and got broke nose ouch cause the guy threw the ball too fast like a flash cause he pick up and turn like twist and threw too fast that he was RUSH!!!! like hurry trying other team to get out not to safe on the base. Ouch other guy got broke nose .

Ouchies, glad your little girl nose is getting better.

I'm truly sorry 'bout your daughter's nose crooked which it's good thing not broken 100% by the way welcome crooked nose club... (chuckles) Looked your daughter's nose isn't bad and pretty fine. Of course younger children are bones easily heal faster than Adult stage does! (grr) *smirks*

My last son had deep cut his nose when he was 2 yrs old. When My friend's daughter attempt ticklish my little son. He's trying to avoid her and turn accidently tripped on the cement and fell direct hit on the metal door way between. I was sat on the chair while outside and watching my child playing w/my friend's daughter. Like hell, whoa I shouted, and grabbed my son rushed fast as we can drive to hospital 20 minutes away from hospital which it's stupid heavy traffic.. I'm glad, Hospital staff gave us first prior list and to get into the emergeny room right away. Checked x ray and everything details went okay but requires lot of stitches. Few weeks later, Stitches was removed from my son's nose. Long years until today, I can see my son's nose still have left over scar lines... Er um, He's still looking handsome boy and 10 yrs old now!
