Gulf residents outraged by BP CEO's yacht outing

It'd be almost like purposely taxing the poor and middle class income people with that strategy knowing that it'll hurt their wallets in more ways than one.

And how exactly would it be "almost like"? Please show how you connect these two incidents.

the oil is now on the beaches of Florida.

Yeah, an almost dead dophin washed up in Panama Park the other day, covered with oil...it died on the way to the hospital...snif, snif!

At least I won't have to be buying so much suntan oil this year! Probably none at all....

Wirelessly posted

If he was truly responsible, he would be voluntarily giving himself papercuts everytime a dead sea turtle turns up.

Not sure what should be warranted for the birds-- wouldn't want him to bleed out.

I think it is reference to Federal oversight as they green-lighted the well.

Well, you know, didn't he take "responsibility" for it all awhile back??

well of course - it was the federal agency (MMS) who issued a permit to Deepwater Horizon. Obama appointed Salazar (Department of Interior) to reorganize MMS because Obama knew about corruption and conflict of interest going on there but Salazar never got to it.... therefore it's Obama's fault.

Now MMS has been reorganized and renamed as Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOE). Former Justice Department Inspector General Bromwich was just sworn in as Head of BOE. The Feds made a drastic change on their part.

Now how about BP? seeking to drill in Alaska

will you ever shut the fuck up?

oh! the horror! such a potty mouth I have! *faint*
Sorry, I have been away. This post made me crack up! We still at it with all political and current event threads leading to the White House?

I agree! Way to go! Now if he can influence some of the hot airbags that proliferate the Internet to consider this, the world might be a better place.

It appears that this topic, like so many others, turns into the same tired battle, with the same tired warriors, fighting for the same sides. Any current event topic MUST end up as a Liberal vs Conservative mudfight. With that in mind...

You want to talk numbers? A couple suicidal fishermen compared to the Iraq War casualties? A war started by your personal object of lust, GW Bush; you know, the guy you have framed pictures of all over your house. Here is a recent update from Antiwar.com

American Military Casualties in Iraq:

American Deaths
Since war began (3/19/03): 4408
Since "Mission Accomplished" (5/1/03) (the list) 4269
Since Capture of Saddam (12/13/03): 3947
Since Handover (6/29/04): 3549
Since Obama Inauguration (1/20/09): 180
Total Wounded: 31865

They did not find any WMD, but they sure found a way to eliminate a lot of good men, women, and Iraqi citizens. Imagine the impact this has had on so many families that must go on without a father or mother. This was not a case of an environmental mistake being made offshore, but a colossal error in judgment by your hero. I imagine you are quite pleased we went there. Guess what? We are STILL there; no end in sight. Two mentally unstable fishermen vs 4,408 (and counting) soldiers fighting for our freedom to post here. Which matters more?

Who is really in charge of the *whole* oil spill disaster? And we continue to wonder about that question, too. You see, the "buck" stops with him. Really? Hmmm...

Questions About Who's in Charge of BP Oil Response
BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg told Britain's Sky News television on Friday that CEO Tony Hayward is on his way out as the company's point man on the Gulf oil spill crisis. He said Hayward "is now handing over the operations, the daily operations to (BP Managing Director) Bob Dudley."

Other company officials insisted, however, that Hayward was still the man and that the switch had already been announced and isn't immediate.

"Until the acute part of this crisis is over, until the leak is capped, Tony Hayward is still very much in charge in the response of this crisis," BP spokesman Robert Wine said.

there you go. hope that answers your question.

But... But... But... Wait a min. Bush sucked ballls(Just me trying to be funny. I know epic fail)

Ya I notice the whole R vs L debate too. Everyone needs to realise that too much of one side is bad no matter which one it is. You need a balance of both.

Balance is as out of fashion as common sense!

The oil needs to stop leaking .... and needs to be cleaned up.

Who is ultimately in charge of doing that?

BP?

When they f*** it up, who is responsible then?

BTW - BP has been f***ing it up for 3 months now. Not trying to argue or make a political **point** here, but Obama really needs to use his authority right about now.

God forbid, pending anyone cleaning up the oil spill who would "insult" him in a Rolling Stones magazine, Obama might need to move his butt a little quicker and with more purpose.
