Final Analysis
Doug's Take: While GT4 is the original driving sim in so many respects, Forza certainly competes in areas where Polyphony's has not changed and continues to remain weak. Forza brandishes a stellar Career Mode that models itself on the GT series, but branches in several areas, particularly by adding outer body customization, Drivatar training, car deformation that affects performance, a compelling point/level system, and an awesome multiplayer Xbox Live experience.
GT4, on the other hand, is an unbeatably gorgeous game that once again proves Polyphony's technical prowess as a leader for the system. GT4's massive list of cars and tracks handily beats Forza's, and Polyphony's game remains one that people know, love, and have built a fantastic attachment to over the years. I'd say that the sales of GT4 will be very impressive indeed, while the first iteration of Forza (there has to be more eventually) will do well. But, I'll go ahead and say this, there will be major detractors because of Forza's innovation. I'd say that for graphic lovers, PS2 traditionalists, and gamers who want the most cars and tracks any racing game can offer, GT4 is your game. And for people who want something different, something compelling, and who want get their game online, Forza will absolutely knock your socks off.

Both games are very good.
I believe GT5 and Forza 2 should be similar. Tight Battle!
