A woman accused of keeping her grandson caged in a dog kennel four days a week while she went to work has been barred by court order from having any contact with the boy.

June Candelario, 61, was advised in the Adams County Jail today by Magistrate Emily Anderson that she was being held for investigation of false imprisonment, child abuse, kidnapping and reckless endangerment.

Candelario allegedly padlocked her 13-year-old grandson in a dog kennel four nights a week in the small house they shared on the 6700 block of Ash Street after his mother died of cancer.

Anderson declined a request by Candelario's attorney to lower the bail set at $100,000 bail on charges. She also gave her a restraining order from seeing or speaking with her grandson.

Maybe she should be put in a kennel for a while?

Or Reba, You could lower her in a dark steel enclosure with holes for air and rain then throw away the key for months with no bathroom or shower and just throw a bare dirty strip of cloth for warmth but really more thany anything just to cover her nakedness and she puts the dirty strip of cloth on and then leave her there until she finally goes crazy out of her mind in the steel long 100 feet deep box then pull her out and tell her

" You know what? .... "

and then you roar a very Righteous Roar .....

" That is how your grandson felt being lonely and having moments of terror all because of somebody who was so cruel to leave that kid in that cage !!!! "

She says " I am sorry let me go " and you don't answer her then drop her back in the cage all the way down deep that dark disappearing hole and she screams on the way down then she breaks her knees on the way down and screams in pure agony, Leave her there about a year then she comes out and realizes truly how that kid felt and then wheel her in for hospital treatment for her knees and more than a year in capitivity and release her with a clear understanding in her very own soul that she will never treat a kid like that ever again !!!! That made me very mad !!!!!

Wow, heath. That's very god-like and forgiving of you.

Normally, I am a very forgiving person but there are certain things you just don't forgive or let people cross that line because they will simply keep on taking advantage of the situation especially when it comes to things like this. My God, a kid should not have to live like a dirty dog in a rotten smelly stinking kennel :smh: So that cruel woman is getting a taste of her own medicine.

What heck Grammy's mind? Seek easy way to out her solution..
Not even think twice ask neighbour around and willing take care of her grandson?? Where her head???

Glad, Grammy goes to jail because of this.. Ugh.. She should have stayed Kennel cage temporary how she'll reckons feel! Replace it!

how dare of granny! shame of her

let her grandson out of kennel and dont slaves in the cages like that but his granny would be in big troubles for sure and also getting broke laws! need to watch of him and dont hurt of her grandson to slaves like that! if again would get in big troubles for sure!

There was a similiar case a few months ago involving foster parents and the foster kids in Ohio (I think). The foster parents were keeping them in cages at night, locked them in there. They claimed it was to keep them safe, but I don't buy it. If those kids cannot be kept safe in a regular bed then perhaps those kids needs a more specialized kind of foster home with more supervision or group home or something like that. Cages just ain't right.

Just when I haven't heard enough I hear another story that boggle's my mind!
Seriousily some people should just not be around kids..period!

WHOA...WAIT TIME OUT EVERYBODY....

I understand you all felt what Grandma did was very wrong...I agree with you 100%..

However, Remember there are ALWAYS TWO DIFFERENT SIDE OF STORIES! Have we heard Grandma's side of story? NOPE...We heard of the boy's side of story or the police's side of story....

There are two different sides of stories...I am not quite sure if this is really true or not...maybe what if the boy was lying and doing it for attention? Since his grandpa and mother passed away...this boy probably ended up rebel or whatever...

I dont know...but...if we hear more news about this situation...if grandma confess she did it..then there's an answer! But...if grandma was innocent..then we can not judge her...we dont know the full story...

We need to wait and see what happens to this story whether if its true or not...

That's my two cents...:)

Yeah, you have a good point there. Of course, just hearing or reading about that will just make anybody angry. Yeah let's see how the news unfold over the next few days or weeks from now.....

Doesn't matter. It still doesn't justify putting the boy in the cage. Still not right. If the grandmother couldn't control the boy or he is being rebellious, then perhap she should find someone to help her with the boy or something, but jeez, the cage is NOT right no matter what the circumstances! No matter what, she is not innocent. If it was my kid, no matter how bad my kid got, I would NEVER put my child in a cage! Instead, I would ask for help.

And, I'm pretty sure CPS went to the home to check the situation out. If they took the boy away from the grandmother, then obviously they saw the cage. CPS would need some kind of evidence before they go ahead and take a child away from the parents/grandparents/guardians. I know this much, I was in foster care.

REREAD my post again...you jump into conclusion! you need to chill out...

It does matter...You don't know what really happen there...What if the boy was lying about it? You dont know if she is innocent or not...

What if grandma never did that? What if the boy was lying? We dont know what really happened...we need to wait for few weeks and find out what really happened...

I dont care if you were in foster care...It has to do with the facts...not just listen or believe the rumors...
