As you may have heard the news in Australia... For you americans, this prime minister, John Howard has been great friends with the President George Bush.

Right now, he won't be visiting him anymore. ;) We just had our election last night, and Labor has just won the whole election, and John is now being thrown out. Kevin Rudd is now taking over as the new Prime Minister.

For the Liberal voters, Sorry mate.

For the first time, in 11.5 years...John Howard is going....going..... gone for good!

Australia says 'No' to John Howard. :D

Can't wait til our elections here in the states, we already threw out half of congress, the president has to leave on part of term limits, and god I hope we dont end up with another southern fried idiot like Bush!

The states needs a new page in the book.... Like we have now :D

Definitely! More than half the people have realized what an idiot he is and the fact that he has no real plan to finish fighting in Iraq in mind. I can hope our next president will put a for sure plan in action to help us get out of Iraq without getting killed.

Remember its not the Iraqi Army thats given us the trouble its the insurgents and a complete lack of adequate leadership in this administration.

Damn right - and he has spent too much money on that and it is useless!

I concur, Dixie! Unfortunately, I voted for him in 2004 because I don't like waffles, which is what John Kerry was referred to. Found out the truth a couple months after the election that there wasn't anything to the stories of the Swift boat and Kerry. I've had enough lies by Republicans to say NO to them in all future elections.

Bush didn't do anything wrong.

It just those suicidal bombers keep blewing themselves up, killing many people.

If John Howard is President of Australia for many many years and
you get threats from John Howard's supporters and force
to vote for John Howard. What would you do?

Would you ask Bush to help you out and Nuke Austrailia, and
get rid of John Howard's supporters. But John Howard's supporters
blew themselves up, killing many people. And hang John Howard.
And so you guys can vote for new President???

Well that is what happening in Iraq, we removed Saddam, hang him,
and now Iraqis can vote for whoever they want to. Women can vote
too.

Right?

That is a good move, Pete. All the best with your decision, next year. ;)

Well, mate, I hope Labor on federal level will do a passable job this time around without a recession or high unemployment as well empty coffer.

I was on the tram last night and there were this couple who wondered about the outcome of the election. And I told them that Howard lost his seat and that Labor won with 80 something seats.

She said 'Oh shit" "We're in for three scary years!"

Maybe she's right, maybe not.

She could be. We'll see how Kevin Rudd is going as our new Prime Minister. But to be honest, John Howard have been here for too long. That two faced, lying bastard is gone.

And that fact that he's buddy-buddy with Bush is enough for impeachment IMHO.

Im not sure who I like on our Democratic ballot - but out of themall I think Hillary has the ticket. Besides as well as the Clinton Administration ran this country back in the 90s, I would not doubt it all if Hillary had some if not alot of influence on the serious choices that Bill made. Such as the SCHIP - that needs to stick around because there's always going to be children in the country who can't have health insurance otherwise.

And any conflict such as the Kosovo Conflict - we were in out and done in less than a month. Clinton used all power available to him to get the job done and he was very affirmative in his leadership - something Bush lacks considerably.

Jobs were created and overall the 90s were very good times for the USA.

Obama wouldnt be a bad choice either, but I know very little of him, and I know he is a fairly young guy for a president and if elected would become our first Afro-president which I think this country is ready for. We've got blacks leading top coporations anyway.

But as far as stances - I dont know their specific ones.

But I will say this Huckabee isnt what he preaches to be. He's known for hiding information from the public which makes me leary of him and he taxed us half to death and yet very little was done to the state. Where'd the money go???

He's a former Southern Baptist Preacher, while that isnt necessarily bad, the last thing we need however is a religious radical in the White House that can't discern common sense from 'revelations'.
