Right, as a Senator for how long? I probably have had left-overs in our fridge longer than that!! :P

My old man would take issue with time limits of "honor."

Tousi,

Actually, in the case of Colin Powell, his first name is pronounced the same as the word "colon."
Ok, I will amend that by removing "very different"; the two are not pronounced quite the same way.

Every time I hear his name it's pronounced "kawl-in"; the body part is pronounced "ko-len", with a long o.

Reba,

Thanks for pointing that out. :ty: I guess my hearing isn't sharp enough for me to be able to hear the difference. To me, they both sound the same. :dunno:

Colin, with the emphasis on an actual body part, has held several employment positions with Republicans. The GOP has been his bread and butter. Many members of the GOP have done a lot of work for Colin and this shows how thankful he is for all their work.

Actually....it's the other way around.

Many Republicans would've like to see him run for President than John McSame.

It's also possible that the person speaking was mispronouncing his name. :)

Why would Republicans want another liberal to run for President?

That's true. Yesterday I was watching CNN and could have sworn one of their political pundents pronounced his name as "colon."

Powell is identified as a liberal-moderate Republican and that has more appeal than McCain.

As an independent voter--If Powell was running--he would've gotten my vote.

I'm an independent voter too, but I would prefer to vote for a conservative, if one is available.
