G'day!

I have been using hearing aids since I was 2 years old (I am 19 now) and just got my CI turned on the other day (surgery was 4/5 weeks ago).

All I am hearing at the moment is a crackling/static sound, which is annoying!

Currently I have a 'loan' CI, because I need to get the hearing aid component fitted.

I have a CI422 and a Freedom, which will be upgraded after Cochlear's new release next year.

I hope to learn a lot here and make some mates!

Would also like to add that I didn't have to pay a cent! :D (apart from medicare levy)
 
Welcome aboard Max! I'm over in Perth, currently saving up for my HA's, though looking forward to claiming some of the cost back through Medicare!
 
Hi Max and welcome, you can look at the thread for "Cochlear Implants and Hearing Aids" and will probably find a load of information there. I had my CI activated at the end of June. Good luck!!
