Gas vs Hybrid

I been research and try to get that answer which its still barrier and find answer.

I wonder anyone who has Hybrid and the reason due price on gas get raise and rather do clean air.

Anyone can explain what the different and wonder it can do long travel?
 
BMW recently conducted a test, involving a petrol (Or was it diesel?) powered BMW against a hybrid, which if I recall was a Toyota Prius. The test showed that the BMW car could get more millage then the hybrid car, which was also more expensive to run.

I don't have the link to the article though. Sorry. I will look for it later.
 
drive hybrid is best drive in city where you usually stop and slow down without waste gas.

Gas is less effect while on long travel.

More hybrid and oil company said... why not? *raise price*
Also, good to make less gas.
 
Umm..

It seems not much benefit.. it like buy one car for regular and one car hybrid... feel not benefit and the more we spend money on gas and we pay the price to damaged on Earth. I don't like that quote about "we spend money on gas and we pay the price to damaged on Earth. You ask for it." I saw the post somewhere when I walk by to get something. It bit disturb and insulting.. I do care about Earth.

I remember one car which costs a lot money to spend on car, the gas only need fill for 2 gallon which last for 500 to 700 miles...

It much cheaper but to buy that car... How come we have positive and Con on those car... oh well
 
Well, from my experaince being a tow truck driver ... I towed more hybrids during colder weather exspecially older hybrids.. as good example.. have you see any Honda Insights lately.. geez .. well hopefully they would improve as years came...

That's what my dad says about it. Like he said if everywhere used Flourescent (spiral) bulbs and electric bill become cheap, Utility will make excuse, Raise the price on Utility. He doesn't believe in energy saving bulbs either so same goes for Hybrid.

I am thinking about getting Hybrid in future. I'm just sitting back and wait until Hybrid have much better improvement before I jump in. They are still working on kinks. Some engineer found a way to make Hybrid runs on battery for 40 miles on flat road before gasoline engine to kick in for charging.

Wow, I had no idea that hybrid cars have hard time starting in cold weather. I think cold has taken the toll on the batteries to start the electrical system.

That's called plug in hybrids, basically. You can get about 100 miles per gallon with those Toyota Prius modified in that set up.

yea it's infamous for that problem. I've heard lot of Ford Escape Hybrid performing terrible in winter. Any electronic system doesn't do too well in cold weather so I wouldn't put in money on hybrid cars yet UNLESS you live in states like Florida, California, or south. As for all-around, all-season car, you're better off buying pre-certified honda car.... it has mileage of like 40 mpg for V4 car.

I saw on "Earth Tech" show on SCI channel (few weeks ago on "earth day" week). One Scientist just discovered new type of battery extracted from soil chemstry (start with "o..." something like that) and it recharges very quickly and put out high amperage in a long run. It is very light weight than Lithuim.. He said that it will be used for electric and Hybrid car in the near future. It is still under experimental stage now.

I sure hope new battery would be much cheaper than Lithuim!!
