Yes, Czech. Rep. gas are cheap that's why we drive to there for shopping/markets twice a year and alway use gas there before leave Czech. Rep. for home.

Update for German gasonline of today
$ 6.03 a gallon in area where I live.

US gasoline?

US gasoline ??

I know here at St Louis is abt 1.98 to 2.10.... it goes up and down. *smh*

Regluar unlead: 86.5 per litre in my hometown (St Thomas, Ontario.Canada)
*hmmm* Isn't cheap? compare w/usa per gallon equal mine?

Multiply by 3.7854 , then the answer is close to per gallon. So, you said 86.5 cents per litre, then it is 3.27 per gallon!
Here in upstate New York $2.25 a gal. Wait til after Labor day weekend, the price will drop significant for the winter time. Seen that happen every year for more than 30 years. I dunno about other countries, how their gas price flunctions (SP) :dunno: .

averaging $2.45 ish a gallon in Seattle area. Wow, the gas prices list around the world is interesting!

I predict that it will get worse in any time. Anyway, gas price in my local is approx $2.30

Well, everybody predicts the worst, most of these predicts never happened! For instance, back in 1973, everybody was in panic, gone crazy because everybody predict that we will run out of oil. Did it happen? You know the answer. So, I wouldn't predict the worst, BUT I can predict that oil price WILL go up *A N D* down!

so everyone said that it will go down to $1.00 while I kept predicting that it will never come down to $1.00 but only up, up and up then float or come down in only several cents off then up again.

And the price never did come down but only up or float (speaking of $1.00 per gallon). It is impossible to prove me wrong unless gas price comes down to $1.00 but you and I both know that it will never.

Ever.

Edit: Sabrina, nice avatar! I like it.

Sure, your probably right. BUT you said you predict it will get worse. Well, I predict that wage will increase too! And this will go back to where we were anyway. For example in 1970, gas was 30 cents a gallon... Dirty cheap right? Not really... Back then in 70's people generally earn 1.50 an hour, now we generally earn ten dollars an hour and gas is now around 2.25 around here, so its almost equivent in term of earning and spending power. PLUS back in 1970, you'd be lucky to find car that runs 9 miles to gallon or more. Now 28 miles to gallon is common. Yes, true business 98% of cars back in 70s runs 8 miles to gallon at most. That is HOW Honda got boosted here when they start selling Honda Civics with about 15 miles to gallon and alot people buy that civic like crazy and find it to be very realiable than american cars. That is how big three got into trouble. Now Big three (Especially GM) is now in big trouble AGAIN, for same reason! Guess they don't want to learn lesson.

As some of you MIGHT notice, for every time big gas price jump, there is more bikers on road! Ja, I am one of them I use my bike to save gas! My bike can go as far as 48 miles to gallon, verses my truck goes 22 miles to gallon.

Well, I do disagree with you at certain point but I do agree with you at other point. That's why GM, Ford and others have hard time to sell their SUVs/products lately... Right now, japanese cars are in high demand because of their wonderful gas-saving system. I believe it is the first time that people will have to wait on the list to buy the japanese cars (beside the fact that there was a long list problem back in 70s or something). GM will make a big layoffs soon, I am not sure about Ford or others though, I haven't keep up with these politics of cars.

Agreed. That's why I am planning to buy a motorcycle for myself (and Nas). So I can use it for work and school to save some money. Ironically, Republican-Majority US Congress rejected the latest bill, a bill that will urge American car companies to improve the gas system in their SUVs and then one of republicans claimed, "Parents should know better" or "Parents can make the decision" something along that line.

That's one of reasons, I soon have to exchange my lovely Jeep soon for japanese car (maybe, Honda Accord) so I can give my middle finger to Republican-Majority US Congress and save some money/gas at same time.

Edit: DHB, actually... we need to add the better transportation system in America like what Europe and Japan did. Bullet train, subway, etc...

This isn't going to happen in America. Know why? America is MUCH bigger than in Europe, plus most Americans WANTS their full freedom of transportation. We have tried carpool, improve public transit system, etc. The result is what? decline in ridership! We, Rochesterian once had Ferry service back in 30's to 50's. They stopped the service due to lack of passengers. Now they are trying to make it comeback. Seems they failed already. Whats more, I was shocked to find out the average mileage on public bus is what? 3 miles to a gallon!!!! This isn't going to solve the gas price anyway. There's only handful of metropolitans would be perfect for mass transit. New York City and Los Angeles is perfect because they were in line with demand and have much densier population than any other cities. In Rochester where I live, I STAY AWAY from bus! They are terrible Would take me 3 to 5 times longer to do errands if using bus than my Truck or Jeep. So, I don't have time to waste waiting for the bus.

We do have Acela (Trains that goes 200 MPH) between Bawsten and Washington D.C. That is understandable cause they all are in between political cities. But the rest of Nation, who needs to go anywhere faster? Whats wrong with plane which is much faster? Yea, I know planes drinks way too much gas for sure. Amtrak is struggling most of the rail system, except the metropolian corridor.

So, in conclusion... There is NO easy solution for America. We haven't given up yet.

Here in Rochester, it's around $2.50! We're liable to become like other countries!
