Funny Bait Car Videos

Alex,
Thanks for posting that. I love watching bait videos...and I think its an excellent way to catch car thieves. I wish our department would put something together like this...it would be a lot of fun to be involved.

Those thieves crack me up when they say oh no! cops! lol. We need a bunch of bait cars all over Seattle metro area because we are in top 10 most stolen cars. If we had the money for that, we might go for that. They recently passed a law to toughen up criminals who steal cars.

What is surprising to many people is how fast a car can be stolen. There is a 15 year old kid we lock up frequently....He can be in many GM vehicles and have them started within 30 to 60 seconds (in one of those videos, it takes only 30 seconds for the guy to break the ignition and get it started). Oftentimes, other people in the area will not even realize what is taking place. Its another reason I encourage people to always lock their car with their windows up.....if a thief wants your car, he'll get it, but the more difficult it is for him to get in, the more of a chance a witness will see whats going on. If he has to break a window or use a tool to get in, this increases the chance that a witness will see what is occuring.

That is awesome, Alex! And neat how they made those captioned videos. It amazes me just how stupid some criminals are (no offense to all criminals out there reading this) and how they make it so easy to be caught ..

No offense to the criminals out there? They are stupid for doing those criminal acts in first place.
