With that link, 3.5mil in france, 1.5mil in bosnia.
That's true. It was percentage. Bosnia is a smaller country.

It is any different than, say the Amish or Mennonite women who wear prayer caps, or the devout Pentecostals where the women do not wear pants, cut their hair, or in same cases are not permitted to shave at all?

Wait, wait, wait...
...there's a religious sect where the women go around half naked? Why haven't I ever seen these before?![]()

Well, when their religious group was being persecuted, the British Pilgrims left England. What about those who were in the country for generations?
Good point....If I go their country they will make me wear face over the veil ....
Arrests are already being made. It will be interesting to see what happens now.
French burka ban: police arrest two veiled women - Telegraph
[From the article you linked to]
Jourrnalists at the scene said the arrests came after police moved in to break up the protest which had not been authorised.
It was not due to the veils, it was due to an unregistered (unauthorised) protest.

I'm not saying they should. I'm only pointing out that there is historical precedence.
j/k, right?I'm going to remember this the next time you talk about deaf discrimination...When in the hearing world...

other category as they choose the lifestyle.According to every article I've read on the subject, the French women in question chose to wear the burqa or naqib - they were not necessarily raised this way. Similarly, the hijab has become a symbol of Muslim femininity and pride in the U.S.
In parts of Afghanistan where warlords remain, the burqa stays. In parts where they do not, the burqa largely stays. Maybe it's culture. Maybe it's personal choice. We may not know for another generation. But the law in France has nothing to do with protecting women from "piggish men".
If you think that a face covering is piggish, then what about head coverings? Should we ban Muslim women, Jewish Orthodox women, and Catholic nuns from covering their hair? How about Pentacostal women who cover their ankles and wear dresses? At what point do we stop being the tyrannical majority?

The burqa goes too far.
The tyranny is the brainwashing done over history, not the efforts to induce free will thinking.
I don't have a problem with scarves. They can be artistic-stylish.
Nuns are another category. They choose the life. And they don't cover entire face. There is a point. You went off track.

That's great. Bebonang had an idea for us to have our own land some time back. It may have been underground.
I am more than ready to go!
Of course I don't believe in the tyranny of the majority! I just failed to see the "if they don't like how I discriminate, they can leave" logic! Pshaw! The burqa goes too far.

IMO - I don't see anything interesting. As usual - there will always be provocateur roaming around after any controversial laws that just passed. ie - Arizona's new immigration enforcement law.
beside... France's not the only one.
no problem in Belgium. there will be no problem in Holland, Spain, Switzerland, and France.
