Yeah, it's all visual to drive... none to do with hearing at all!

It amazes us that there are some countries that still prohibit deaf to drive... make no sense at all. Good thing for us deaf Americans can drive!

It's not just a matter of hearing the sirens, but a matter of being aware of your surroundings when you're in a dangerous environment.

Crossing the street is considered a dangerous environment, no matter whether you can hear or not. So, everyone should look both ways when crossing the street. Also, if you see cars responding differently... then that's another sign that something is going on.

I've done the same thing myself when I was in Rochester. I was walking to the mall. I noticed cars pulling over and when I turned around... I saw a firetruck approaching. I also look in all directions before crossing the street. If it was directly across the street, I look left and right. If I was crossing an intersection, then I look at all streets.

Actually, you are right. I am unable to hear high pitch sounds too as well. I have heard some sirens, but from what I have noticed, most are high pitch explaining why I cannot hear them.

Agreed and they say when one of our senses are lost, the other senses increases in to be viligant. So, it is natural for all of us to make the best of our other senses to be aware of our surroundings.

So, yeah, When I drive - I am not even able to hear any pitches at all and that has indebted me into using my eyes on the double (triple to say) and to keep myself at bay away from the dangers. Of course, it is always important to be ever-aware.

Where did you get that radar detectors? What if i want to put radar detectors in my car (2006 Chrysler 300 Serial)? Also, i should to put my wife 's truck (2006 Chevrolet Suburban) radar detectors because i never forgot that my wife was drove when signal turn green then go then i was yelled and slap on my wife's shoulder to watch out for Firefighter!! After my wife was stop because my wife and i are full deaf! My two daughters (one yrs old and two months old) in back seats but thanks god we don't hurt or nothings!! By the way, where did you get that radar detectors? Plz let me know thx!

I dunno but in Australia it is banned, if police catch you, you will be hugely fined and they will cosficate it
 
I noticed white bulb near traffic light which automatically receiving wireless signal from firetruck siren or ambulance siren after traffic light change to red.
I know that they are coming near.

Radar detectors are banned in Virginia.
Radar detectors and radar jammers are illegal in the District of Columbia.
Radar jammers are illegal in Oklahoma, but radar detectors are legal.
In New York, radar detectors are illegal for commercial vehicles over 18,000lbs.
In IIlinois, radar detectors are only regulated in commercial vehicles.

White bulb on the traffic light is not anywhere location, very limits and most small town can't afford.

amazing!! Thanks very much, sir :) I will trying to buy but i was lookin for some information about install. I do not know how to install and do not like to put Radar & Laser Detector in my car by above on Navigation System or on roof because my car look fantasy and sassy! Which one do i should to put Radar & Laser Detector? Sir?

Even with CI I can't hear sirens unless its right by my implanted side and by time they get there its too late, fire alarm too so I need some kind of visual signaling, it don't have to be flashing light it can be led light with word flashing like "police" in blue led light flashing, red for fire truck, white for ambulance, etc instead of hearing kind radar detector it makes beep noise and weird symbols flashing that doesn't makes sense like 2/213 green led light flashing that my fiance have.

Oh!! I thought that Radar detection will show alert for flash with visual signaling?! You are right that we can't hear BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! Very interesting!
