well, here it is - I was fired "off schedule" from doggie daycare job. Was told I wasn't learning well enough. I think he was pretty impatient w/the hearing too but he didn't say anything about that when he called me.

I would request an in writing summary of the exact concepts you were deficient on, and what the expected time table for learning those concepts is.

Sounds like he is using it as an excuse. One can't very well say, "Your hearing loss gets on my nerves, so I'm letting you go."

BTW, you are entitled to request and receive the info I listed.

I'm sorry to hear about that, dogmom. :( You sound like you're great with dogs and it doesn't sound like he gave you much of a chance. :(

Sorry to hear it. I hope it works out for you and you get a better job.

:ty: for help and concern....when he called me he has list of skills that he had been reviewing <which I had gotten copy of at beginning> and said he'd been thinking about it for a while and he just didn't see me fulfilling those skills; most had to do w/mechanics of operations, involving spatial orientation, check in/check out <involves sequences/making change>, handling of dogs from purely physical standpoint as opposed to behavioral standpoint. This kind of thing has happened before; people <many> don't seem to have patience or understand LD, no matter how much one explains.
We do have a difference of opinion from behavioral standpoint and honestly I just don't think it was a good match. Told him I hoped he would find someone who better suits what he is looking for in employee.

Really sorry to hear that dogmom, as I imagine your hearing loss probably has a lot to do with it in his mind, but of course he'd never same that cause you could, gasp, file a discrimination lawsuit.

I agree with CJB on this one. It's still discrimination. I am so sorry to hear about this, Dogmom. If you really want to get your job back so badly, so fight for it.
