I already knew about this years ago. I just didn't think about it until I came across this article.

What these articles all say is that if you have fat around your stomach or waist it is dangerous, but fat around your hips is not bad.

Looks like they were talking about a healthy set of curves, not an excuse to start hoarding the triple layered cake! Besides, without muscle development in women, all that extra weight will really tax their bodies.
