Meh, I like working hard. I was in the middle I started losing my hearing int good ear when I was working for Mobil. I didn't run the register a whole lot after that, until I got my hearing aids. I put away pretty ALL the orders, if one came while I wasn't there, if a new person tried to put away the others would tell them to leave it for me, because I'd just move everything anyway. I'm a little anal about organization, and the back room and cooler looked fairly OCD. So I lifted cases if beer, soda, milk blah blah, emptied those huge trash barrels outside, wtf etc. pretty sure that's why I had my daughter early though :( too much heavy lifting, I was told my placenta had lesions in it.

Anyway, I've also landscaped and welded, I'm a massage therapist now, which is pretty brutal on your body. I like that though, plus it's helped keep me in shape all these years. I've never had a desk job.

I did not mind working hard as a health aide because I was making more than $8.00 a hour. If a person it going to work hard for 8 hours they should get paid for it. I made more money working as health aide 24 hours on the weekend than my ex-husband made working a 40 hours week at Walmart!
I bet you would want to made a decent salary if worked hard.

Understandable if they provide an interpreter service for deaf employees.

However, if they don't provide that service, why would they get tax credits? :nono::nono:

IRS doesn't give them tax credits for hiring deaf people. If it actually does, then many employers would hire deaf people to get tax credits but they DON'T because it's not true.

DOES Walmart provide an interpreter service for deaf workers during orientation, trainings, staff meetings, etc? If not, that's a violation of ADA law as well as EEO.

It's not like we're just lightly rubbing lotion on people, they can do that themselves at home. :giggle: Some people like a light massage, but most people want to feel it, and some people really want to feel it, I do a lot of deep tissue, that's basically pushing as much of my body weight as possible into the client body, and holding my weight with my arms and hands, it's kind of like doing modified push ups ALL day, and I use my hands A LOT. The worst stress is on our joints, especially our hands and wrists. Paying close attention to body mechanics helps, but it's still a stress. The average massage therapist career is only 3 years, due to burn out and blowing out their thumb joints.
 
hmm..that makes sense

ive had massages before, a couple of times, because i needed to rid tension and stress from study, it did help but a small headaches for 2 days then all clear, its to do with pressure points , im not sure...
but yep while still surprised about 3 years is ave/max I understand that now since you explained...wow never knew that , something I've learnt....
now whats you plan to do after that?

obviously you cant do it forever..

You can, you just have to pay attention to your body mechanics, making sure you keep your joints lined up and you're not extending thumbs fingers and wrists a lot. Using your forearms and elbows more than your hands will extend you career too. I use my hands too much, lately my left wrist and thumb bothers me, but I think it's more tendonitis flare ups, I've had tendonitis issues in that wrist since high school and playing the flute.

Yes, that what I think too.

I used to work at Walmart and my VR provided an interpreter for orientation and intial training. After that, Walmart supposed to provide an interpreter for late training, employee meeting and other events but my boss had trouble to find an interpreter.

I'm enough with employer's excuse about incapable to find an interpreter.

One of the guys I worked with at Massage envy dislocated his thumb during a massage. He didn't work for a week, but as far as I know he's still massaging, I think he's going to go back to school for nursing now though.

I had a friend of mine that worked at Massage Envy, nice place. =P They're everywhere here in Florida. She got me awesome discounts. =D She was just the greeter person up front though. =P Still though, not an injury I'd like to have.... I jammed my thumb a few weeks back and I thought that was terrible... lol!
