Yeah, same here. What sucks is that some of today's consoles have converted class games into RPG style. That kinda ruins the game. One of my favorites was Bomberman. The last version I played was on the Nintendo 64. After that, they made RPG versions. Now, the game is more complicated. :(

Most non-action paced RPG games (like Final Fantasy) include things like health level, power level, magic level, team expansion, etc. When you approach an enemy or an area, you're given a choice of what action you want to do, how much you want to do, who it's for, etc. After going through minutes of configuring your attack, you make your attack. Oh wait, you haven't even moved yourself at all. You just sat there taking your time figuring out what you want to do. Now, you do the whole thing over again... with the next person on your team. Of course, that depends on whether you accepted that person to be on your team. You probably did since "more is better"... or so they say. ;)

Anyway, they have been implementing some RPG features into more and more games nowadays.

Street Fighter did that. You chose the kind of super-attack you want... "Alpha Attack," "Omega Attack," or etc...

Mega Man did that. You're a boy who controls Mega Man in the computer virtual reality. Before entering a computer virtual reality, you choose two out of many attacks that you recently earned. Aww... come on, I earned them all... I want to use them all!

Bomberman did that recently for their game. Instead of just yourself as Bomberman, you've also got a sidekick that you have to nurture and take care of throughout the game. This is similar to those so-called Pokemon games. Ugh!

What ever happened to those games where you keep what you earned and use whatever you want. Not being limited to using less than what you really have.

Thanks! I love old games! I remember playing SNES in the same place where I use my computers currently. Man, I feel old and miss my childhood memories! Hehe!

RPGs sucks.

I have some old school sonic games for my gamecube and even the complete zelda collection for the cube also. :thumb:

Great!!!

I love old games which it's great memories and also my hubby would freak it out and want to play steal my computer.. LOL

I used to play Atari games in the 1980s a lot, and this site will bring me back memories!! :) I loved Frogger, PacMan, Space Invaders, E.T., Haunted House, and others....they were great! :)

E.T.? heh...no offense I heard it was one of the worst games ever made on Atari...it even took the producers 4 weeks to finish making the game before release...not very long indeed.

Today, it usually takes most companies one year to 3 years of producing a game while some even takes 5 years producing a game before its release into the markets.

like I heard that the new Zelda game for the gamecube have been taken 5 years under development and won't be released 'til spring 2006.

That is the reason I am getting a Nintendo Revolution. New school with old school flavor.
Yes they did say that the revloution would play old school games BUT...they weren't exactly specific...did they say it would play ALL old school games or just Nintendo-licensed games? *shrugs* should find out more about this later on.

I have a gusty feeling that the relvoution would even be released before the Playstation 3 lol.

ALL Nintendo games will be available. As for other companies games, it seems TBA. In the latest EGM magazine, the writer asked about playing Contra with 2 players over the net. So I assume a good number of classics will be part of the Revolution. I am somewhat skeptical about how much the games will cost, Nintendo said a lot of games will be free, but of course some will cost something, but did not say which or how much.

Atari released a collection of old Atari games on Dreamcast and I think they also did a PSone version. Nintendo has the best library of old games IMO.
