EMP is something that interferes with anything that's electrical. It basically shuts down anything that is electrical such as computers, mobile devices, cell phones, hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc...

They do have small EMPs that can shut down anything within a hundred feet and can be big enough to shut down anything within hundreds of miles.

That's one thing that would be very devastating for the United States. They could drop a EMP bomb in the middle of a major city and shut down everything within the entire city instantly. Nothing would work again. Imagine driving your car... suddenly, it stops. You can't start it again. You're walking around with your hearing aids or CIs. Suddenly, you can't hear. You're playing your Xbox 360. Suddenly, your Xbox 360 is fried and your television shuts off. Basically, if the United States got hit... we would have no defense. Other countries could fly in and we wouldn't be able to see them on radar. We wouldn't be able to launch our missiles for defense.

There is also a special barrier that protects from EMP. I'm sure a lot of military installations have it.

Correct. Barriers for stationary and mobile use.

Nothing to worry. I have many anti static bags and put them in a tin box.

You don't noticed why most protects come with anti static bags from any store like Best Buy, Newegg, Fry's, and Radio shack.

:laugh2:

EMP don't really kill all cars without ECU. Most under 80's car do not have ECU.

How many of those old cars are still on the road in the USA?

Mobile, Aid hearing, laptops, etc.

I am sure USA use 50-60% old cars due 60's still popular for show and 80's is more afford than now.

I still see 80's car anywhere in my area.

whats a ECU? whats that to do with 1980's cars? care to explain wee bit more please

interesting thread, pretty scary, it would put us back 100 years so we cant use communciation for defense well more like can't communicate to the public to help defend them more like it

Yes, 80s cars but not many cars older than that. Some, but not many.

I hear that the most old American cars are still used in Cuba.

Oh Interesting :Ohno:!!!

Oh Interesting :Ohno:!!!
Yeah.

A guy showed me a document he got from a technology convention in New York. It explained the concept of how a taser could be converted into a short-range EMP.

Scary! :Ohno:

Yeah, It's scary and just about everyone is already dependent on the electricity for any kind of use. Without it, it will be a disaster and not only that, it will cripple a lot of things that goes with it.
