Dumb: Violating your probation by drinking one hour after you have been sentenced.

Some people are just plain stupid. ;)

There is one guy I know that is constantly going to jail for being drunk in public. Hehehe!
 
Oh my Gawd, How stupid of him violate a judge's order? Too bad he got caught, He deserved it after-all. ;)
 
:lol: Some people just think they can get away with anything but never thought they will actually get busted by a judge that sentenced them in the first place...I suppose this guy learn his lesson...
 
I think someone needs to change his light bulb, apparently the last one had blown out
 
Well, I understand your point of view. But my perspective is different. This person is cloud with disease called Alcoholism. This guy isn't stupid, but happened to be taken over by alcohol. No alcoholics can go on alone without any help. He was set free and gone on his own do you expect him to stay away from bars? Do you expect that his "bad" friends would leave him alone? Often I have seen people who don't understand the alcoholism would say, hey, its only 1 drink and that is all, and how can it hurt? Alcoholics can NOT just simply take one bottle and forget it, because once he finish drink his mind becomes cloudy and trip to the next bottle and so on til hes too drunk and fuck himself up. That is where the problem is. I think that is judge's own MISTAKE to let him go. He should have send him to holding cell until treatment center can admit him.

You do have a valid point there, Alcoholism is a serious thing that has to be dealt with but surely, He would or should have had the common sense to drink at another place where it was not near the court house knowing that judges, police officers, lawyers, etc frequently attend in that area. I do understand that it does not go away overnight but then, He had the chance to come clean because the judge gave him a chance to be free. He would or should have took the advantage to do something about that. Either that or the Judge could have ordered him to a detox center or an alcoholic anymonous support group.
 
Yeah Diehardbiker65 got a valid point, when people who are heavy alcohol over a long period, the person cannot stop on his own, they get anxiety, sweating, shaking, and possible vomiting so I guess he cannot help himself because alcohol controls his body and mind. So, I agree with diehardbiker, the judge should never let him out free in the first place, should have went straight to alcohol treatment. Thanks for pointing that out Hun. ;)

He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, either, right?! LOL! Or a brick short of a wheelbarrow full! LOL!
 
It DOES take time to get somebody into treatment center! That is why it is NOT good idea for judge to let him go free while waiting for a space in treatment center to become available. Usually 30 days waiting period!!! Sometimes longer! These support group like Alcoholics Anonymous don't open 24 hours, and they do NOT provide shelter! That is problem! Judge should have THOUGHT of that!

lol...Not the brightest crayon in the box. If brains were gasoline, he wouldn't have enough to get his motorcycle out of the garage.
The tank is empty, the battery is dead, the driveshaft has rusted through.
 
I find this story to be a bit odd because usually the probation ticker begins the minute he/she signs the probation papers agreeing to the conditions of probation. It doesnt happen right after a judge hands it down. And usually probation doesnt normally happen until later on the day like before 5 pm when the convict gets into the probation office.

depends on the municipality, if the judge made it part of his condishions for release then it begins imitly, also iin some ares you cant leave jail untill you sing papers agreeing to probation and the condishions therof, seeing as the man did violate the condishions of his release hes screwd I have no respect for people who dive drunk, I have lost more then one person to drunks.
 
The judge said Vandeven must complete a 30-day inpatient alcohol program. Vandeven must then return to the county jail and appear back in court on Jan. 30. Depending on how well the man does at the treatment center, the judge could restore his probation or impose the jail sentence of up to six months.

I can tell that 27 years old guy has drinking problem. I'm agree that he should sent to alcohol program before return to jail. I know what heavily drinkers are because my mother is one of them... terrible... it's addiction like smoking and drugs.
