My Daughter came home from school. She was quite chatty. Telling me about how the cops and dogs came into her class and how her whole school was in a total lockdown.

Apparently word got around and a few kids were selling drugs on campus.

Now I am speaking of Jr. High 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

The drug that is being spoken of is Crack Cocaine. Apparently a few of the kids were selling it and telling other kids it was the "Pop Rock" candy.

My daughter said it was Awful. They cops came in her class room while the school was on lock down and searched each child's backpack and made them empty their pockets. Drug sniffing dogs were also there sniffing. They even made my daughter take out the battery out of the compartment of her cell phone.

They did this to all of the students there while the school was on lock down.

that cant be legal! especially without the parents consent since the kids are minors! and the parents should have been notified!

I have always been worried about my daughter being exposed to this.

I am so glad that the school had enough sense to call in the authorities to handle this situation.

As brutal it may seem. I think it was a good learning experience for these kids.

So far Three kids were arrested on soliciting drugs.

More were arrested for possession. I will find out more after the charges that are pending are released.

it's actually legal. remember ghetto schools with metal detectors and bag search? :( You're thinking of interrogating kids without parental appearance.

It is totally legal....

They're signs all over the campus saying that they have a right to search anyone on the premises. (school property)

Even vehicles that drops students off.

*shrugs* happens all the time at many schools. At least 3 kids were caught with it.

oh boy, not again. Since I heard about Meth Drugs aka any kind of candies to selling in any schools; here the link is.

Ugh, it sucks to hearing that. It must be horrible for your daughter to watching that and having that experience.

I am actually glad that the cops have gotten involved, and the School did an excellent job by putting the school on lock down til the search was done.

Makes me feel like they are making my daughters school a much safer place to attend. They are doing their job!! :)

I'm with you Babyblue. At least they didn't wait until some poor kid overdosed before taking action to protect the students.

and that is definitely much more traumatizing than drug raid.

I agree... Or some poor kid getting addicted to drugs. Because they thought it was Candy.

The three dealers were 7th graders between 12 and 13 years old. They are all charged with dealing drugs. Kids! Babies! are selling this crap!

oh boy but i am glad that they are just doing their job to keep schools safer and prevent from happening again well of course always happen again and again no matter what but still they are aware.

yes i am glad your school is in handy now. i do feel the same thing if it happens to my kids schools too. it s a great rich experience for kids to see, and real exposed to them in reality with safe situation.

sad kids are so young to do some crime like this. ;(

Shrugs??

Happens all the time? Perhaps.

but the shrugging shows me lack of care of this issue. Do you have any other input besides shrugging?

To me it is a big deal.. We do need to educate kids and educate at a very early age. It is a big deal to a child that has have their privacy invaded because of some idiotic kid that decided to deals drugs at a place that is suppose to be considered a safe haven.

I am really glad my children are grown up. It seems as if it gets worse all the time with the younger ages having drugs.

No kidding!!

The worst thing I can remember in Jr High was a kid bringing an alcoholic drink to school.

High school was a kid getting caught with Marijuana or beer.

Now it is Crack, Meth, and Marijuana. :eek3:
