 Hey I live in Rochester NY and I really want to start learning asl outside of class. Are there any deaf events happening in Rochester NY. Or is there someone that lives here thats willing to practice with me?

Are you a student in college? RIT?

When I was at RIT, they had a program that was hosted every Wednesday night at 9 pm (or 10 pm, don't remember)... called "No Voice Zone". It's like a free ASL class hosted by volunteers teaching ASL at different levels and in different categories. I don't know if it's still around. It was there during my last year at RIT, 4 years ago.

You can also check out Deaf Chat Coffee. There's one in Rochester on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 am to 1:30 pm.

I don't live in Rochester, but my husbands family does. His aunt and grandmother are deaf and the rest of the family know ASL.

I can ask and find out if they know of any places. :)
