Do you trust the Red Cross?

I'll check out that organization, Reba. Water is critical for the developing world.
I also like that they are based locally, just "down the road" from me. I've seen their equipment in person, and they have a good local reputation. It's cool to see them pour muddy water in, and get crystal clear water out.

I have not trusted the Red Cross since learning how they treated the armed forces in WWII.

I donated some money to Red Cross before. I had no problem with that. I do trust them.

Good site. I notice, though, that the Salvation Army is not listed. Weird.

Is Samarian purse listed? I think they only rate those that are not missionary based. Or catholic based for all that matter unless I'm wrong.

Habitat, samaritan's purse, salvation army are christian-based organization. I'm sure there are Catholic based as well and few others.

Edited: Samaritan's purse have 4 stars

About the Salvation Army:

We don't evaluate The Salvation Army.
Why not? Many religious organizations are exempt under Internal Revenue Code from filing the Form 990. As a result, we lack sufficient data to evaluate their financial health.

Though we don't evaluate The Salvation Army, below you can find a list of rated charities that perform similar types of work.

Religious based charities are evaluated at Charity Navigator.

My dad did not like the Red Cross because of how they treated the troops in WWII. I don't know all of the details. Apparently, the service men were turned away when they asked for assistance.

I found Christian organizations at the site.

My aunt works for Red Cross in the finanical dept. , but I don't ever ask her about it. Scared that I would offend her or seem rude to ask her about her job if I did.

I can tell you one thing, she does trust Red Cross.

do you have any comprehension of the weight on the shoulder's of the Red Cross in regards to global aid and assistance. With the volume and level of need constantly involved don't you think that there wouldn't be some wrong decisions made or incorrect decisions made by personel. Generalizing it into a organizational wide corruption is not what should be done. If you don't want to donate then don't. Hopefully donating is done out of a person's heart and will to help somebody somewhere and do their own small part in the interest of goodness and kindness.

When comparing organizations, you'll realize just about most of them deal globally. You have to consider who are better at organizing and better prepared.

Yes, I trust them. They were here for my family and I in time of need after the devastation of hurricane Charley.

The other organizations as well. It is the best part! When people pull together to help! That is what I saw. During our time in need! It is overwhelming to see how many people were there to help me and my family. Coolers, water, ice, gas and basic needs items. People from different groups came to our aid.

This is what I saw.

Any legitimate organization is good! Even the small ones.

Just be careful of online scams. Check it out before you donate.
