I have pcos (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) , does any women here have it ?
When I was in my 20's I never knew why I never got pregnant when I did have sex without protection, it's strange without the use of a protection I could got pregnant immediately, it's amazing I never got pregnant and later in my 30's still had sex, possibly I may had a miscarriaged once when I felt something came out and didn't thinks of it until later I had a test done for PCOS and shocked that I have it...

My doctor tried to tell me that I could never get pregnant after that I left I cryed so hard in my car hoping the doctor is wrong, well he was right after he explained to me about his friend's wife could not have any children which she has the pcos and they had adopted 3 children, I was not happy...

How many of you women have this conditions ? Please feels free to talk here, thank you!

Yes I am the one... I have PCOS.. My doctor told me to lose pounds and taking folic acids and I am on medications for PCOS... My periods are irregulars which mean my hormones and my thyroids get screw up every months, and I have to take the medicines to keep me straight.

We are working on to get pregnant for 2nd time, I been trying since my first child was 11 months old, and never got a luck yet. Just not yet.

Now my recent doctor want me to check on my blood test and my thyroids check up to see if I am on balances. If my periods are STILL way off, she might want to put on me in 2 options, one on stronger medications (that will make me sick) and other is full hystertcomy.

One of my friends, she has PCOS, and after going thru the medication and losing weight, she got pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl born recently September.

Never lose your hope.. keep taking your medicines and try again... You might want to lose weight and try...

No, I don't even have polycystic ovarian syndrome, I'm sorry for those who have it though. :(

My doctor asked me if they can set up an appointment for them to drill my ovary and removing some cysts. I was like " :ugh: You got be kidding me" and it is painful, but I don't want to go thru, and I took the medications that suppose to soften the ovary and drying up the cysts. I take 1000mg of those medicines. Yes, it making me sick in morning, but I take every night before going to bed.

I'm sorry you had it. Like what CrazyMomma said...try that? Good luck though cuz you needed it! Having babies are blessing!

We are trying too for 2nd since my son was young. I wish all women can get pregnant with no problem. But none are PERFECT!! That's what God made us as who we are.

CrazyMomma

Yes I do take Metformin 1,000mg twice a day...Why ask that ? Curious.

What are the symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)?
These are some of the symptoms of PCOS:

infrequent menstrual periods, no menstrual periods, and/or irregular bleeding <--I have that
infertility or inability to get pregnant because of not ovulating <---Possible I have that
increased growth of hair on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes
acne, oily skin, or dandruff <---dandruff I have that
pelvic pain <---I have that
weight gain or obesity, usually carrying extra weight around the waist <--I have that
type 2 diabetes <---I have that
high cholesterol <--I have that
high blood pressure <--Unsure
male-pattern baldness or thinning hair <--do have thin hair
patches of thickened and dark brown or black skin on the neck, arms, breasts, or thighs
skin tags, or tiny excess flaps of skin in the armpits or neck area
sleep apnea―excessive snoring and breathing stops at times while asleep <---I have that

Also I have triglycerides problems too
I have many other health problems, too long to listed...ain't my fault I was born like that.

Also have Thyroid too.
When I sometimes get my period, it's exremely painful.

It probably wouldn't be a good idea to have children if you have so many health problems/issues. Those problems could complicate your pregnancy if you ever get pregnant.

I have the same medicines you take.. I take Metformin - 1 tabelet in morning, 1 tabelet in afternoon and 2 tabelets before going to bed..

I can't take 2 in morning or afternoon, it makes me sick in stomach. I have to go back for blood tests to see if mine are balances and the hormones levels. We will see what happening...

Um, it is not part of health problem like heart, lungs, etc.. It part of female organ or doesn't get period regular on every month when eggs release from ovary. Women who doesn't release eggs for some reasons.

I don't mind doctor drilling into my ovary to remove cyst off. I want to get over with it. I don't want to get medication to soften it up because I am only 36, I don't want to wait so long to get there at age of 40 or bye bye to my chance of getting pregnant. Forget it. Drilling into my ovary is only one way to get rid of cyst.

Yes, I have Type I diabetes and hyperthryoidism. I have struggling with getting pregnant. I have to set up an appointment with doctor soon.

Update: I went to see my wonderful infertility specialist last week for diagnosis. She found partially blocked tube and poked it open. I am very pleased with the results, but I am not out of woods yet though. One more test, then I am done.

PCOS does a lot of things to a woman's body I seen it with my own eyes and lost 6 babies due to it. Basically it increases the amount of tetosterone in a woman and caused alot of side effects to her.
