Do people remember Clinton Era?

George W. Bush's legacy will consist of three things: the war in Iraq (most significant), the poor state of our economy and the record drop in the Dow.

exactly. but then... we won't know the whole picture until couple decades later. Like I said - I certainly hope the historians won't look back at GWB's legacy and say "damn...." I think they will go - <bleep!> :mad2:

Gun rights? Is that an intentional slam against Obama?

??? I'm talking about between Jillio and I. We have a fundamentally different view on it.

I agree, but I don't think historians will be limited to using only one expletive when describing the George W. Bush Administration. :giggle:

Sometimes I want to go into the future like 100 years from now and see how historians look at the Bush era and its aftermath. I wonder if its really significant or just simply a "He wasn't a very good president." I get the feeling it's the former.

I can see the 7th graders in the year 2108 writing (or typing?) the essay "The cause and effects of the Iraq War....."

I don't think you will have to wait quite that long. Ten to fifteen years should do it if not sooner.

Personally (unless Obama is in office), I don't think there will be an end to the war in Iraq...

The fact is George Bush´s father FAILED during Gulf War... They claim that they won at Gulf war but didn´t arrest Saddam. We were like  We would consider the war victory IF they ARRESTED Saddam during Gulf War....
"Arrest?" How does one "arrest" the leader of another country? Send in Dog the Bounty Hunter with a warrant? Get real.

Wasn't the leader of Serbia arrested?

Wasn't the leader of Panama arrested?

Lest you forget, Republican Presidents also initiated wars of their own:

Civil War -- Abraham Lincoln
Korea -- Ulysses S. Grant
Spanish/American War and Phillipine Insurrection -- William McKinley
Nicaragua -- Calvin Coolidge
Grenada -- Ronald Reagan
Panama, Persian Gulf War -- George H. W. Bush
Desert Storm -- George H. W. Bush
Afghanistan and Iraq 2001-present -- George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush
WWI and WWII presidents were both Democrats. They didn't start the wars but they brought the United States into them.

Yes, but we aren't talking about avoiding wars. We are talking about going into war FOR A GOOD REASON.
