Marilyn Monroe along with another blonde actress (I couldn't remember her name) did advocate the slogan, "Blonde Girls Do Have More Fun!"
Former blonde, gone Redhead to renounce all blonde roots...
It does change people's attitudes toward me-- it is noticeable on how the guys approach me as a blonde differed from their approaches to me as a redhead.
More respectful when I am a redhead, actually. The stereotypes for blondes are hard to live down...! "Oh you are a blonde? for how long?" Me: "what do you mean, how long?" Them:"I mean, you cannot be a real blonde. nobody is a real blonde." And here I am thinking, Oh my goodness... then said- "Well my mother is a Finnish immigrant so naturally I got the Scandinavian blondeness from a direct source. No chemicals required." then this leads on the guys to a notion that since I am naturally blond-- I am naturally gullible! And here are their lamest pick-ups delivered to me.
Now as a redhead, they just ask "What nationality are you? Irish, I betcha?"
I can't tell you HOW many time people have asked me if I am Irish since I dyed my hair red... I guess my strong Scandinavian appearance PLUS the fake redhead naturally will bring that question on.
