well, I believe in equality, men and women should treat each other well. my boyfriend spoils me and I spoil him.. sometimes he says i over-spoil him LOL.

but I think it depends on the couple.. some couples like to spoil each other, and others don't care for it at all.
 
I treated my ex like a queeen and then she left... I do not believe in treating your wife like a queen but only treat and love her as your wife. Some women would take that as an hint that you are like a puppy, drooling over her and then she loses interest.

I will not treat my wife like a queen but will show my deep love and cherish my wife. Spoiling isnt good for anyone.

I don't like jerks and a**holes. Sometimes, they are very hard-headed with their problem attitudes. Too much macho ? That's the thing I don't like. I know, I am sure you will say same thing about women, too but in a different way.

This time, I prefer to take my time to find a right man. I don't want to marry - maybe, in the near future. I call this " marriage " a " leash " around the neck and stay faithful. Marriage requires for both couple to be there for each other at all times... time, help, and all. Sometimes, it chokes and needs a space.

I've noticed my exs were dependin' on me too much and I couldn't stand it. I need my space and break. * cuttin' off the leash * I love the way I am now, enjoyin' my life out there and do things pleasantly without a man tellin' me what he expects me to do.

I've spoiled her from time to time. I once bought her a bathrobe with the days of the weeks embroidered all over it (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc...). When I gave it to her, I told her that this represented the days of the weeks that I loved her. She thought it was cute.

Another very frequent gift I got her were anything related to leopards. I got her leopard blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, etc.

I even got her things that were related to her favorite Pokemon... Eevee! ;)

Well, we've parted and gone our separate ways. I certainly hope the man she's with now spoils her the same or better. :thumb:

I spoiled the wife I had. I built shelves in the bedroom and the garage for her stuff. I took her to restaurants (Dennys) almost every weekend and took her to many deaf social events all over the Southland. I completely repainted and changed the carpet of my home before she moved in. Bought her a desk and let her have her own fone line and her own private space. I even brought her crushed ice when she wanted some whenever she was at a hospital or emergency room.

I spoiled her for almost 4 years and she treats me like shit for the last year of marriage.

I was a dream hubby and I wont do this anymore I learned my lesson.

Rich, you sound like my kind of husband! But I can understand where you're coming from, you tried your best to be the man you wanted your ex-wife to have and then she went and trampled all over you so you are now reluctant to be that nice again.

There are women I have met that would love for their husbands to do that, but they dont because the husbands they married are complete hardasses.

I can see where the couple are in a dating only relationship and the wife gets bored. It is good that you spoil her but you also need to spice it up and change it every once in a while. Instead of Denny's everyweek - go out of town and really eat at a nice place such as Olive Garden once a month, or a rock concert just whatever tickles your fancy.

The happiest couples I know have a once a month "date night" where they actually get dolled up to the nines (a combination of two sayings) and go on a date that they both really enjoy. Other weekends it is stay home and rent a movie.

Maybe men need to stop be so picky, only target the most beautiful woman they can find. Everywhere I go, it's almost always (more than average) "ugly" man with beautiful woman, hot man with beautiful woman. Never "ugly" woman with handsome man. Look at sitcom, you will almost always find it's fat man with beautiful wife.

From what I mean by "ugly" is the ones that can be average looking or below what society expect from what should be beautiful.

Hey, same goes to women, don't try to look for handsome guys only.

Beautiful doesn't last forever, but kindness do. Think about it. Do you want to spend 60 years with someone who stay beautiful for about 20-30 years but still an asshole once the beautiful fade away? Or 60 years with someone who look average but have a wonderful personality who treat you the way you want.

I know if I had a husband who treat me like a queen, then I will try my best to reward him back. Simply,two way street between both of us. (How? I think I will leave that up to your imagine. XD)
 
We did try other restaurants like Olive Gardens, Chevys, Benihanas, and others but my ex-wife's being a night owl makes her in love with Dennys or Norms as she'd like going at 2-3 AM for dinner.

yet women complained that we, men, are so picky about women. i'm going to use the caveman in the geico commerical, whom said "uh, WHAT?" to deal with this bullshit [not yours, but to general].

Are you saying that women are MOSTLY to blame for the divorce? They didn't give themselves enuf time to look further in the men's character...

It's mighty difficult to find the good in man in just few seconds! I even had hard time figuring out which food I want from menu...
 
Well, I don't know what to say.

I sort of wished you joined in one of debate I saw year ago between people about which gender is more picky. A lot of them agreed that it is males, and even males admitted it.

If you walked around on my campus you would see what I have saw.

But I agree with one statement I read at one time because I do feel like all good men are already taken and I don't mean fame, rich, and handsome man. lol. Those imagine while they are nice, yes, but does not matter to me. Maybe I am just more aware of what's better for me. I am paying attention to what's going on in this world, probably more than average people do.

But argument and theories like this sure made me happy that I am single. People are making things more complex than it need to be, both women and men.

I am just hoping that you don't assume that being asshole and jerk do work on all women and that's it is better that way. I am stunned that it does work on some women. But I also have seen some asshole woman doing the same thing to male. So it can go either way. I know I will never like those types of people and I don't even want that energy to be in my house at all. I don't have time for it.
