Depressing threads?

Lately, I have been seeing many threads put up about people hurting children. I dont open them but the titles are really getting me really depressed. It just seems like too much at once, I guess.

Does anyone else feel that way?

then why do you feel the need to mentioned the anti-obama posts on post 15?

don't the anti obamas people have as much right to dance around the obama sucks bonfire as the anti bush people did?

my opinion.. when people talk about good stuff about OTHER people... it makes the people feel like they werent good enough themselves. now when they were talking down about someone who hurt child or whatever... they are able to feel better because they ARE better than that person since they did not and/or never have/never will hurt a child thus they are better than that person.

the point is.. its easier to gossip about bad stuff and feel bad for news and feel not so bad since most of us didnt do it. However.. all of us who were gossiping about negative things tend to sit around and whine, never be able to do anything about it.

when we gossip about good stuff... half of us tend to feel a tiny bitsy jealous because we didnt do that and we should have.

make sense?

i heard canada hardly give news on bad stuff unless its truly is big thing. dunno if thats true but if it does... that actually make sense cuz Canada is one of lowest crime related to guns and yet almost every house has a gun in it.... so media really does affect us... even on internet..:|

There is only one program that I love to watch is CBS Sunday Morning which provided good news programming and it make me feel good to know there are positive and happy people doing wonderful things and sometimes crazy things but still it is a happy news.

I know life is not fair when things have been bad in the news like being killed by gangs or parents or one of the parents hurt or killed children. It just make my stomach feel queasy and not feeling good at all. It hurt when things happen to people who were hurt like rape, murdered, abused by husbands or boyfriends and let not forget about soldiers coming home dead from the war.

Let me decide for myself. Glad you feel the need to defend your Obama hating no matter where I post. I also post on other websites, sometimes in similar fashion, to all the whining from your brothers and sisters in the anti-Obama camp. Would you like the links of those sites as well, or is the AD forum enough turf for you to defend?
My entire basis for the Obama remark is to echo Shel's comments about depressing topics posted recently. The constant drumbeat of the Obama haters is depressing, whether that is your intent or not. Some of us have hope. Again, I am not an Obama lover. I just want to get things turned around. People voted this guy in. I will be glad when I don't have any free time to visit here, because I hope to have a job or two. Some negative member posting depressing hate filled diatribes here is not making me feel better about anything.

Yea, it is depressing to see all the threads created bashing Obama. Someone brought up that there were threads bashing Bush. Oh well...such is life when it comes to politics.

I fully understand the point of your comment. the point of mine was the negative posts have been here for years. now some the negative is about obama and democrats. where it used to be about Bush and the republicans.
it is the same old negative song and dance, only the lyrics were changed.



the threads about the abusers, be it child or animal, are disturbing. those type of posts have been of the forum for a long time as well. A member thought they would share a news story. they are entiltled to post it, if they feel the need too. the rest of us can ignore it and not discuss it. It is not manditory to read a thread or post on it.

yep. I don't see anything depressing enough to cause harm to human nature when it comes to criticizing the politicians but animal cruelty or child abuse? that's a completely different realm of inhumanity. One news of horrendous child abuse is equivalent to decade worth of nasty gossips on politicians.

i personally dont give shit about politics stuff. got enough on my plate as it is already. beside people will tell me whats going on with politics whether if i want to hear it or not lol.

but those news about child abuse and stuff... there s a conflict in me... id want to know who did that for my child's safety and yet i didnt want to know about it cuz its just too horrible.

Yes, I can understand where you most come from but the medias and TV news are everywhere. We still read and watch...

Don´t open the thread to make post if you don´t like but I understand the point is TITLE...

It depress me to watch how US medias attack other countries over healthcare system, try to put Obama off to help 50 millions uninsured people. Remember, none of healthcare system from different countries are perfect but they still receive treatment and keep their home which is mainly important.

I avoid some threads if I knew something disturbing gonna bother me cuz since this computer is in open room lol cuz it's in family room so I don't really surf thru news or other part of threads that I can't really open or my parents wud have heart attack :P so.. sometimes yeah if I see a picture or something talking about what is really sick to read and sometimes after I ate i wud have stomachache but lucky I ingored it.. if i don't I wud be in bathroom for hours :P

Yes, you are not only one but we as well. We tried to convince a member something nicely and show how much we caring but a member don´t want to see it. I must say that a member is a very diffcuilt person. Best is don´t open the threads to view or make post. Don´t worry... Just leave it.
