Yeah obsiviously! I was once told "I never thought that deaf people would smoke the cigarettes!", I was "um, I have the lungs too duhh".

Hearing people are far the dumb to think deaf people are dumb :roll:

Er...there are two issues here...

The first is that somebody (bank) didn't do their jobs in verifying the paperwork related to the loans (things like an appraisal). Happens more often than anybody wants to admit.

The other is that a scam is a scam whoever does it. So, the deaf dude totally deserves his punishment. Do the crime, do the time. Nobody gets a free pass in life to do stunts like this.
 
I just hope this sends out chills to deaf enterpreneurs who use dead people's identities to start or maintain their businesses.

Any time you get a home loan the bank would want to get appraisal on the house before the loan is given out. Social Security of a dead person will be in the filed for 7 yrs after that it gone.
 
yeah he did the crime but banks are greedy and lenders and it is a bit of the 'enticing' the crime. It shouldn't be that easys....but is is going on a lot these days. greedy lenders
 
If this made news just because the man is Deaf, that is ridiculous.

From reading the article it looks like everyone involved was greedy to a fault.

Mr. Ashley should certainly do his prison sentance because he committed a crime.

I would like to hear more about the bank employee who assisted in this deception. He/She should likewise suffer the consequences.

Oh yes, the banks are so bad especially greedy. They hurt people as they trapped their clients to pay the mortgage most of their life.

He was very wrong to steal the ID from a dead man. That screwed him up a big time.
