Big boom topic. Pretty sure it's been talked behind the curtains but now let's get this show rolling cuz AD needs an activity spike and it's about time, this section is dead!

True/False: big D Deafies here can't participate as well as deafs in controversial issues like feedback on engineering, politics, governmental issues and federal management because of reasons that either they lack or don't want to get involved.
(Hint, see the posters in the political news sections)

True/False: {D}eafies can't think as well intuitively or philosophically on larger issues and focus on the smaller arguments they are better at and are capable of.. deaf and hearing are guilty of this too though.
(Hint, Arguments over ci/oral/language acquisition discussions)

Let's get this show started..

LOL at naisho! :D my apologises! i will re read it and will reply it soooooon lolololololol

haha not singling you. Some other people I have in mind...:naughty:

OK. I am a "big" D. I don't keep up or watching news about obama or politics that are not my things.

I don't know why but I do check to make sure if i need to know whats going on but don't have so passions about it. you know?

I think it has less to do with d/Deaf than male and female. I notice the political threads have more male participants.

But the females participating tend to be hearing.

Somehow, I think you are trying to find a link between this thread and "Language hypothesis" thread....

Okay, I'll bite. Both false. Now what?

But that doesn't matter.. Everyone else reads at 8th grade level.

Plus, it's the oral kids' fault.

I'd be lying through my teeth if recent observations haven't had much to do with this topic. To be honest, some feedback from small talk got me thinking again but this time it gave me the balls to post this thread. I had been thinking and discussed it privately with other fellows in the past, but laid off from posting about it.

I noticed they (Big D's) don't seem to participate as much in contrast to our late deafened or little d peers for certain topics, but I am VERY very certain their eyes are watching everyone posting, not just here but on facebook and possibly real life too. I had my ways in the past of sleuthing it out (don't ask, old stuff too much to explain). It seems they don't want to get involved in certain things.

So the question is why?

So, does that mean some of these people you are referring to have lower than average comprehension levels?

I can't really say if it's true or false. It varies on the individual.

Also, I think the term "Deaf" and "deaf" are too loosely defined.

Everyone has different definitions of "Deaf" and "deaf". They single others out because they believe that they are "Deaf" and not "deaf".

Not sure about their reading comprehension as I can read any input giving to me, but as far as giving output is alittle difficult as I'm very insecure how to put my thoughts down in proper terms and order.

btw I used to politically involve but i lost interests. I must have converted into the deaf political party. just like the green party where their only interests in being green and nothing else ;)

Of course you would say something like that. What else is new?
