My friend has Jetta car for sale on Craigslist. It's been listed two weeks, and she told me that 10 people have had a lot of tire kickers. Man contacts her that wants to come out next day at 10 a.m., She said fine. Next Morning at 7 a.m., She made the coffee and stared the window.. Surprised the Man Shows up and confused that thought meet at 10 a.m.?? However, The man looked at Her Jetta Car. He was haggled on the price!! She won't take his low offer then he kicks the dirty ground , Yelled, insulted and stomps off !! He made her dog Golden Ret. Upset and He almost kicked her dog! He made his horns in her longest driveway! :shock:
I told her, Careful that some craigslist people are insane and must have someone with her! Lucky She didn't hurt while her husband worked!!

Anyone else has any strange buyer stories?????? :eek3:
 
What make different if post on newspaper or craigslist or something else?
 
I've seen people keep reposting with same items almost daily. Also people posted 'wanted' and asked for FREE not pay. It turn me off. Other thing...I've seen old car seat for sale, toss in the trash after the car seats is 6 years old. And people post something that is over priced! :roll: :roll:
 
Being agressed has once happened in my life and that was enough for me. I always have another person with me since that day! (and no, I don't want to share the story, because bad memories come up)

Ahh.. jeez.. be careful what youre looking at Craigslist..

Most of the important of all: real photos, make appointment, communicate, if she or he isnt make it on the time or not communicate.. just leave and be safe, dont wait. Thats simple.
 
Craigslist is a joke!...I tried to sell 2 of my cocktiels and cage....it was flagged!....Never found out why....as time went on, I reposted the sale...got a few inquiries...no one showed up!....Phone rang off the hook!...Later, I posted for "Free" to good homes....and boy, did I ever have so many, so many people call!!!! One man showed up with a "parakeet cage"...saying he just wanted the birds for "his office"....I asked, "are you keeping the Cocktiels in THAT cage...he says Oh Yes...and I replied, "NO way, it's obvious you know nothing about Cocktiels"!...(Probably was gonna use them for his snakes, no doubt)!!....he got very angry! And I showed him the door!

The garage sale section is OK....The pets section??...Always "fighting" and flagging going on there!...And the "Men looking for Women"....is a Joke! So many "nasty" posts on there! Real perverts!

I'd rather have a "garage sale" at home! Forget "craigslist"!
 
this kind of BS happens no matter how you try and sell your stuff , you get dick pricks and other unknown slime.

I like CraigsList, but I do take it with a grain of salt. Most of the want ads for jobs are nothing but a joke. It is a good place for finding garage sales, furniture, computer items, etc., though. I've gotten a few things off there for dirt-cheap -- maybe I've just been lucky so far!
 
My dad posted a help wanted for traveling and doing rib cook-offs, and had posted the date, time and location where to come in for an interview, and a bunch of people started to showed up out of nowhere, I mean a whole lot of people, it's like something you'll see at a school for teacher's on-strike day. :eek2:
 
That one reason why I have them meet at school near my house.


That why I never have them come until they are serious and not offer me low

Many times I say Forgot it to some people who was ask too much questions and ask will it be safe on road I keep say NO it need brake line.
 
I haven't used Craiglist at all yet.

But, It is just like every other advertising websites such as E-Bay, so and on. A lot of people would sell things just to lure one and nother. It is no different than those who use Craiglist. Some of the sellers may be wonderful and trustworthy and some of them aren't.

It just just the same thing as if you are browsing at any stores in your hometown. Some of the sellers will scam you all to the end and some of them don't.

You just got to use your common sense and take it with a grain of salt to know otherwise.

Same here..I have gotten free stuff...bean bag, treadmill, exercise bike and then got things cheap. No drama with any of the purchases. I have a loft bed listed..nobody is interested so far...

i result on craigslist news and websites but its true about sell everythings include ads,house&apts,exotic,sex,model,whatevers of types.Im not joking about craigslists!! that totally scams on sales

i read news about ex-medical student got arrest for murder of model but ex-medical student still in jail but reporters and media still follow on ex-medical student's news updates but says worth over $100,000 for afford attorneys&judges.But they hounded at ex-medical student's family. And also model and their family too. Trust me!!

im suggestion you to close this thread PEROID! im dead serious!

There is no need to close this thread. It is fine.

I understand what you meant by that. Yes, There are some people who uses Craiglist to scam others off. It is no different than any other sites too.

It is ok that you're concerned which is good. We all should be careful whenever we use craiglist or any other sites. :)
 
I have bought and sold..given away, many things on craigslist. Yes, there are the scammers.. The pet section is by far the worst. Everything gets flagged because everyone has their own idea of what a reasonable small rehoming fee is.
I even got a nigerian scam on a camera I have for sale. Person offered to pay with money order, more than item was listed for. I said Sorry, only set up for local cash sale!

Similar one offering to pay by paypal. I use paypal all the time, but I didn't feel it was on the up an up. Would hate to not get paid and them have access to my other accounts.. so I said no.

If people are too aggressive I just don't email again. If they don't come..it is annoying and time consuming.. but it happens with even paper ads!
