Cops's Gun vs Taser Shock

Think of it this way...

They can waste 5 minutes wrestling with a guy in order to arrest him.

OR

They can just shoot a taser for 30 seconds. That gives them 4 and a half minutes of free time to stop by the local Krispy Kreme for some donuts. ;)

:whip:

A community helping a member to overcome temporary circumstances is a waste of time? I beg to differ.

We are, first and foremost, a community. When you believe that we are not, then you have no business participating. Just because you don't want the responsibility of a community that had borne you and conditioned you does not mean you can easily forsake your obligation unto them.

I wasn't implying that I think they're wasting their time trying to wrestle the guy down.

I was making a hypothetical theory of what might be in the minds of the police officers who prefer to use tasers instead.

but... it's the jobs that not many people wants to do it. they're very courageous to do it especially firemen and cops that would cost their lives someday. we should provide them with necessary equipments needed to effectively to subdue the offender quickly and harmlessly (as less as possible)

They have those means available. Obviously, they aren't using them properly.

The vast majority of cops and firemen retire from their jobs; they do not die in the act of doing their job.

Desire to become a law enforcement officer quite often has nothing to do with courage. Or a firefighter, either.

true! well-said. yes the vast majority of them lived to retire because of the blanket protection we gave them... which is unfortunately... frequently abused by them and it is very difficult to hold them responsible for their abusive/illegal actions. THE BUCK STOPS HERE! :mad2:
