As I am sure many of you are aware, for quite some time now scientists have been saying that cold fusion was a pipe dream, an impossibility, but it is NOT a hoax.
"Researchers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Russian Academy of Science have replicated experiments that produced fusion reactions in water with the use of tabletop unltrasonic generators (sound machines)..."
FINALLY!!

Now we can finaly call NASA start build plans for a starship go to warp speed like this one.

Not highly likely, Steve. It will take a lot more energy than fusion can produce to achieve interstellar spaceflight.

Enterprise Propulsion

The Enterprise propulsion was a "warp drive". It was based on one of Einsteins most brilliant discoverys, that matter warps space, i.e. gravity occurs. The warp drive contained dilithium chrystals which provided a core for the combining of matter and antimatter, the mutual destruction of which powered the drive. Basically, space was contracted in front of the starship, and expanded behind it. Then the starship rode this wave like a surfer. Faster than the speed of light. Recent research shows that this is actually possible! Now, YOU explain the auxillary drive, the impulse drive!

Yes, that pretty much sums up Roddenberry’s concept of the warp drive. A hydrogen fusion drive could probably accelerate an object to a few hundred miles per second at best—probably .005 c, tops.

I don't know how many of you remember Doctor Who, a British production, but his TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) used a very similar drive mechanism to warp space and time.

In spider-man 2, Dr. octopus was doing a similar project on creating "cold fusion" also. :D
