What's "Clue: The Great Museum Caper"? It's also known as "Clue 2".
Instead of trying to solve a murder in a mansion, you try to catch a thief in a museum.
One player is the thief and the other players are the other Clue characters. The turns taken are as follows... Thief, Player 1, Thief, Player 2, Thief, Player 3, Thief, Player 1, etc.
The thief moves using a pad so that other players can't see where the thief is. The thief can only move up to 3 spaces.
The other players move using 1 of 2 die. That dice allows them to move up to 6 spaces.
The game is prepared with the other players placing the paintings (9), cameras (6), locks (11), and themselves in specific places. The paintings are placed in any room (at least 1 per room; excludes Power Room & hallways; gray room is optional). The cameras are numbered and can be placed anywhere. The locks are labeled with either "O" or "L". The thief cannot see which lock is which. Their characters can be placed anywhere except the same space as the paintings.
The thief begins the game by entering the building anywhere through a door or window.
The die are rolled. The players have the option of moving first and asking questions second, or asking questions first and moving second.
All moves by the thief are drawn on the pad and can't be seen by other players. If the thief lands on the same place as the painting, the painting isn't taken off the board until the thief moves away on his next turn. If the thief lands on a camera, the camera has been disabled... which won't be revealed unless other players ask about it. If the thief lands on "P", power has been turned off... which won't be revealed unless other players ask about it. The thief cannot land on the same space as any other character. When the thief attempts to exit, he must check the lock to see if it's "O" to freely escape or "L" to be stuck and move on his next turn.
The second dice that the other players roll will show "M" (Motion Detectors), "S" (Scan), or an eye (Person/Camera View). The following questions may be asked based on what is rolled.
Motion Detectors: "What color room are you in?"
The thief must truthfully reveal what color room he is in or "I am not in a room." The thief can avoid answering this question only twice in the game. (This is marked on the pad.)
Scan: "Are all the cameras working?" "Which camera can see you?"
If the thief disabled a camera, he must remove those cameras from the board. If the thief turned off the power, he simply says... "Power's off."
For the cameras that are working, the thief must truthfully say which cameras can see him.
Person/Camera View: A "Is camera # working?" "Can camera # see you?" or B "Can (insert person's name here) see you?"
If the thief disabled that camera, he must remove it from the board. If the thief cut the power, he simply says... "Power's off."
If the camera is working, the thief must truthfully say "Yes" or "No" for if the camera can see him.
If another player can see the thief, then the thief has been "spotted" and must place his character on the board... then stop using the pad for the visible chase is now on.
If power has been turned off, it can only be turned on when another player lands on the "P" space.
Other players can move on the same space as the cameras, but not on the same space as the paintings.
In order for the thief to be caught, the other players must be on the same space as the thief.
Short Game: The thief must steal 3 paintings before escaping. If he succeeds, he wins. If he fails, the other players win.
Long Game: The players take turn being the thief. Whichever player steals the most paintings win the game.
